It's easy when we're on the outside to believe that we would walk away without a second thought if a person mistreated us. It's easy to say we couldn't continue to love someone who mistreats us when we aren't the ones feeling the love of that person. When you experience it firsthand, it isn't so easy to hate the person who mistreats you when most of the time they're your godsend.
— Colleen Hoover, It Ends With Us
“I’ll keep pretending to swim, when really all I’m doing is floating. Barely keeping my head above water.”
— Colleen Hoover, It Ends with Us
“Fifteen seconds. That’s all it takes to completely change everything about a person. Fifteen.”
— Colleen Hoover, It Ends with Us
“Just because someone hurts you doesn’t mean you can simply stop loving them. It’s not a person’s actions that hurt the most. It’s the love. If there was no love attached to the action, the pain would be a little easier to bear.”
— Colleen Hoover, It Ends with Us
Cycles exist because they are excruciating to break. It takes an astronomical amount of pain and courage to disrupt a familiar pattern. Sometimes it seems easier to just keep running in the same familiar circles, rather than facing the fear of jumping and possibly not landing on your feet.
— Colleen Hoover, It Ends With Us
nothing is as tender as annotating your favourite books. it’s like leaving a piece of your heart on the pages for somebody else to find.

i love to annotate my books with my thoughts and comments, so when @wondershare_pdfelement reached out to me about their digital pdf annotating app, i was very intrigued! . the app has everything — the ability to highlight texts, underline, add images, bookmarks, sticky notes, and so much more. it also has a free hand writing tool that allows you to annotate on your documents! 📝 it’s also completely free to download (and they have an option for a paid version with lots more features too!) 🪄 so if you’d like to give the app a go, you can click the link in my bio to download it ✨ it’s available on mac, windows, ios, and android! ☺️ #pdfelement (at Perth, Western Australia) https://www.instagram.com/p/CX8gFlvv3WK/?utm_medium=tumblr
I lost this girl years ago.
“I hope that in the end you’ll be satisfied. Not only satisfied, but happy. I hope you’ll tell me you gave your best and on days you couldn’t, you allowed yourself to rest without feeling guilty about it. I hope you found love at some point, that you cherished it and did not take it for granted. And when it crashed and burned and you held the shattered pieces in your bloody palms, I hope you could at least learn something about yourself. You grew from the things that broke you. I’m so proud of you for staying soft in a world that tries to harden your heart every day. I hope that at the end of your days you will not regret anything you did and didn’t do. I want to hear you say “I made mistakes and I fucked up, but I lived. I lived through it all and looking back, I would not change a single thing.””
— I lived / n.j.
I decided to really go for it this year, and hit 365 books read. There's still 2 weeks to go in 2021 and I will undoubtedly read more, but I figure this is a milestone worth memorialising now. There was a lot of YA, Middle Grade, Romance, re-reads, and I finally got through some of the backlist that's been sitting on my shelves for YEARS.
(there's 1 last image I couldn't upload because of the 10 image limit).
Anyway, fiction was an incredible distraction in this ridiculous year.
If your question is "how???" the answer is audiobooks at 2x-3x speed.
Hope your reading year is going well! xx
