on 6/2 six years ago, i posted a thread describing an experience with gender id never been able to see anyone describe previously. i’d spoken about it to therapists, my friends, even my parents when i was little, everyone assumed i was joking or just being weird.. so being 14 and lonely from quarantine i took a shot in the dark, wrote about my feelings, and posted it on twitter. i have never been so grateful for any decision ive made ever. i met people in my found family, friends i hold dear to my heart, and have since belonged to a community that’s made me so much less insecure and even more proud about my personal identity & queerness.

i am definitely a different person to who i was when i posted this thread; the only thing about me that’s stayed consistent throughout the years is my confidence in my alignment with this label, & i don’t care at all if that sounds silly because it really is the truth. if i am nothing else, i am genderqueer, or specifically, catgender.

i don’t like tacking negative memories onto something that makes me so happy, but everything i was subjected to by the internet as a result of my post was and is fully worth it for the joy catgender brings me every day. nothing has ever proven life to be more worth living than the comfort and euphoria i feel on a daily basis.

i’m not really good with words so, i hope this all at least made a little sense. just know i’m still here, i still identify with this, and i still stand by everything i said in defense of my identity when i was a teenager. (shrug emoji but it’s the kind smiling one)

i have never, and will never make this aspect of my life smaller or more comfortable for anybody else. i’m proud to be proud. happy pride month !!!!!!
