-friends in low places; yoona & eve (flashback)
yoonaxkr:
yoona took a long, deep breath and nodded her head. “yeah. to say the least.” she admitted as she took the seat. yoona had heard the rumors and stories of what had happened to eve. from what she could tell she couldn’t exactly see what was fact and what was constructed by imagination or miscommunication. she had thought that it was probably better to not get too involved. she remembered when a lot of rumors circulated when her mom passed away and she got into some legal trouble. it was annoying and a overwhelming to handle while dealing with grieve.
she was sure that eve maybe felt similarly since she was grieving in her own ways as well. she pulled a sandwich out from her bag and looked over to her. “can i assume the same from you?” she questioned before taking a bite of her lunch.
“the lunch room has been is just… a lot.” she nodded her head. her eyes caught glance of the scar on eve’s thigh, but she did’t bring any attention to it. she knew that was something that eve had probably been dealing with a lot. “were you able to catch up with school stuff? i had a hard time with mine.”
“Yeah.” The word came as almost a breath of air. It was nice for someone to understand for once, and not treat her like a pariah either. But then Yoona probably knew something about these feelings. Eve had heard just as everyone else did that her mother had died; in fact Eve had been one of those to know the woman was sick. She tried to tell herself that at least she hadn’t actually had anyone die, but the truth was Minwoo may as well have. “I haven’t really been feeling people lately.”
Yes, Yoona definitely understood her more than most others on this god forsaken patch of land. The struggle of homework, of hospitals, of mourning. She knew that Yoona wouldn’t be questioning under her breath why she wasn’t the life of the party anymore.
“Mostly. I put it off for a little while, but then I got so bored sitting in that hospital bed that I actually knuckled down and got most of it done,” she said with a wry smile. At least she was away from those stark white walls. “How have you been?”
