Sunshine & Rainclouds

For someone with as many walls as Eve it was really quite surprising that she had a job in customer service. Especially when she was met with unsavoury clients arriving for appointments that ended with her staring them down until whichever staff member they were in need of appeared. It also resulted in days where the last thing she wanted to do was face the general public and the first thing on her list was burying under her blankets and blocking out the world.
On a day like this she could have gone home directly and done this. But her apartment would have been cold from the heating being off, and it was the dead of winter, which meant by the time she even reached there the rod in her leg would be frozen and aching. The other option was heading to Ahnjin where she could ease the pain in the heated pool and see the smiley attendant with the chiselled body who she was sure might actually be part sunshine.
She would never admit it outloud, but being around him actually managed to lift her spirits and make her feel better. Of course, she didn’t trust him, it was more along the lines of when you can’t stand the headache anymore and finally cave and take an aspirin.
Entering the fitness centre she made her way to the change rooms, hopping into her swimsuit and stashing her belongings in one of the provided lockers. She couldn’t help frowning, her brows knitting together, as she emerged at the poolside. Her limp was slight, but there thanks to her leg not yet defrosting and she hadn’t yet reached the point where she could shed the day’s bad vibe. She was still scowling to herself even as she sat at the poolside, dangling her legs in the water.
