Adidas strikes back at negative comments after receiving their fair share of homophobic backlash for their Valentine’s Day Instagram post. On Valentine’s Day, 2016, Adidas showed its support for the LGBT community by uploading this adorable picture of what appears to be a shorter woman standing on her tippy toes to kiss her partner with the caption “The love you take is equal to the love you make.” Now when I first saw this ad I honestly didn’t even notice the fact that there were two women in the picture instead of a man and a woman, but apparently others did. Adidas deemed it necessary to fire back at this one specific user. Although this was a pleasantly passive aggressive response, in my book it was still unnecessary. I think Adidas is too large of a company and too large of a brand to take the time to tag a randomly irrelevant Instagram account with a comeback. I feel it was beneath them to ever even acknowledge this comment. Just a little petty Adidas, don’t you think?
