Just one more picture from last week: on the top of the world, with my rental board. As always Black Cats shop in Tignes didn’t let me down, last year they fixed my broken bindings, this year I rode a Rome SDS, which was pretty sweet after my board got lost. Definitely the shop to go to when in Tignes. Still, my soft snowboard bag was sad to carry home... So many years I passed by this rock formation called the ‘Eye of the needle’ and today, first day of our yearly regular snowboardtrip, we decided to hike up there for a photo. Not a smart decision, if you don’t have an accurate assessment of the conditions and if you don’t know how to hold on to the snowboard safely on a really steep slope. I think I slipped and the snowboard slipped out of my hands starting its own journey down, without me. It kept the rest of the team busy trying to recover it (from the most uninviting part of the mountain range), while I made my way down on foot. Not much to add, as everyone descended safely and noone got hurt by the accelarated board. So I lost and I learnt, life goes on with a rental board for now. Thanks for all the rides, dangerpony.
