youngmin had been preparing himself for the worst. from what he’s gathered from his time at keisung so far (and from what his brother told him before he started) is that there are a lot of scary people around here. especially amongst the college kids, who seem unhappy about the fact the high school exists here now, and who youngmin tries very hard to avoid, scared that the fact he’s one of the youngest here might make him an easy target. so, when this particular person that he’d bumped into tells him it’s fine, he can’t help letting out a quiet sigh of relief, thanking his lucky stars he’s not getting yelled at or punched in the face.
he stays in his bow for a moment longer though—maybe a moment too long—before standing up properly to face the girl he’d bumped into. a college student he guesses; though he’s never entirely sure, everyone seems older than here around this place, it makes it hard sometimes to place exactly how much older. his hand automatically goes to his camera when she asks about his taking pictures, it’d been swinging slightly still and he stills it, before fiddling absentmindedly with the strap attached.
“uh, yeah, I um, really like photography…” he explains, mentally face-palming at the awkwardness of the explanation. “it’s always so pretty out this time of year, and I wanted to get some nice shots of the changing leaves and stuff before the next photography club meeting,” he adds with a little more confidence, hoping to make up for his initial awkwardness.
eunbi chuckled a bit at the boy’s awkwardness. it might be seeming like she was making fun of him for it, but really, she just thought it was cute. her best guess was that it was their obvious age difference that was making him nervous - the college students at keisung weren’t exactly known for being very fond of the newly arrived high schoolers. personally, eunbi didn’t mind them that much, though she did find it a bit annoying that the campus was more crowded than usual right now. but she blamed the administration for that, not the high school students themselves.
“ah, i see,” she responds, eyeing the tree the boy had been pointing his camera at before the two of them had crashed into each other. it was full of leaves in different shades of red, orange and yellow. even eunbi had to admit it was quite beautiful, despite of her dislike for the colder season in general. in another life, where she wasn’t as devoted to physical fitness as she was, she might even have learned to appreciate that beauty properly.
“i’m not that fond of this time of year,” she admitted. “i don’t like that it’s getting colder. that means i have to dress up more for my jogs. though i guess this is at least better than winter. it’ll be a pain in the ass to get out to jog when it starts snowing.” she shivered at the mere thought of it. “though i’m guessing you photography people love winter too, right? since snow is beautiful and all that.”
