the office was nice, but he still wouldn’t really say it suited her. then again, he did have to agree, if he left and had to come back he would want to be on the other end of things and have an office instead of being one of the students. then he wouldn’t have to put up with any clique rubbish anymore. he still sometimes regretted taking his current position because he had so much extra baggage to worry about. “you know i would tell you if i suddenly left for months and then came back,” he pointed out, though he was still grinning all the same, “only fair if you tell me. unless it’s some super secret and you won’t tell anyone, then whatever.” it wasn’t a big deal, the only thing that mattered right now was that she was back and didn’t seem to have changed at all. besides the fact she was now staff. “it’s completely fair! you can’t just expect to stroll on in here and be my favourite without putting any work in. though if we are going to make this deal, it has to be two ways. if you become my favourite staff, does that mean i’m your favourite student?” 

the only thing that sucked about having an office meant that in due time, she was definitely going to be using it to deal with kids at the school. be that scolding them, giving praise, or just dealing with any kind of pests that decided to come along. though she dared them to test her, she really did. but mina hummed at his words, small laugh slipping out once more. “would you now?” she teased, a little challenging, but more so in her own friendly manner. “i wouldn’t say it’s super secret, no. the reason i went away, yes, but not the reason i’m back. you’ll probably be able to see in a few weeks why anyway, but if you really want to know, then i’m pregnant.” and truly, she didn’t mind telling him either. jaebin was still someone that she considered a good friend and it was only fair for him to know, he was right. she had just up and ditched after all. “it is not, you already know me! hm, you better put the work in two then. it’s a two way thing after all. if i put the work in to be your favourite staff, you need to do the same to be my favourite student.”

“you know me, always asking the important questions,” he just responded with a grin as he kept himself leaned up against the wall, trying to get a little more comfortable. he had mostly meant it as a joke, but he was expecting some sort of serious answer as to why she was back here after managing to get out. and if she didn’t give him some satisfactory answer, then he was just going to have to keep asking until he got what he wanted. “you don’t really strike me as an office sort of person,” though he did have to admit that the idea of having an office for himself did sound rather nice. “but you actually chose come back to this dump? thought it would have involved coercion or something.” it was somewhat surprising that she would have chose to come back, not that he wouldn’t say he wasn’t at least grateful because it meant he had someone else to talk to. and this was now someone who had more power than he did because she was staff. “didn’t say i wasn’t happy to see you,” he laughed with a shake of his head, “just slightly confused. but it’s not going to be that easy, if you want to be my favourite you have to earn that position, unfortunately.”

she laughed again quietly at his words, shaking her head a little bit though as she watched him. it had been a long time now since she’d seen jaebin after all, but he was a good kid and mina had liked him before, and she’d probably still like him now. unless he’d fucked up after all, she had no reason to dislike him, and she was already at least a little amused. “because i’m not, but when it comes to keisung i think i’d much rather have an office.” definitely. “god, maybe it would have. but i have my own reason, and if you really want to know then i can guess i can tell you.. maybe.” her words were a little teasing really, but it wasn’t like she was going to hide her reason for being back, and jaebin was a good friend, there wasn’t too much of a reason to not want to tell him. “good, or i’d have been offended by that-- yah.. that’s not fair. whoever your favourite is right now better step out of the way, because i’ll be taking that space now.”

when someone left keisung, jaebin never really expected them to come back. why would anyone want to come back to this dump of a place, anyway? so, when mina just upped and vanished he didn’t really expect to see her again, which was a little sad because they had been friends and he missed their conversations. they had gotten along, which was a little surprising to some people, but it had just made sense. so, imagine his surprise when he heard that she was back and she was a member of staff. jaebin didn’t even hesitate, heading straight for her new office and knocking at the door, letting himself in and, sure enough, right in front of him was his old inferior friend. “yeah, i have a question for you,” he responded, a grin starting to lift his lips as he closed the door behind him, “what the fuck are you doing back here? with an office, no less. didn’t expect that.” 

most that left this place, they didn’t come back. which sounded very ominous and enigmatic.. and a little dark-- but really, it was just because if your ass got out of keisung, then you normally weren’t planning on coming back. and mina hadn’t been  doing that, she’d hoped to go on and do her own thing, but now she was back and there was a difference with her this time anyway. after all, she was carrying a kid inside her for fucks sake, that would change anyone, and her especially given her previous reckless yet calm disposition, which was now a lot more stern but caring. oddly enough. still, when she looked over and saw jaebin, a very familiar figure. “that’s a very good question, thanks for bringing it to my attention.” she laughed, rolling her eyes a little. “i like the office, i think it suits me,” mina shook her head, leaning against the desk a little more again. “to answer it, some things happened-- a lot actually, and i needed some place to work and stay. so here i am. not happy to see me? i should be your favourite staff member now.”

The masquerade was in full swing and he couldn’t help the smile on his face. Everyone needed a breather from the nitty-gritty clique life of Keisung. Seungcheol still didn’t understand the whole thing, but he was going learning at least. Jian was a big help at making him understand this whole clique business and he always thought those only existed in movies. But it seems as if clique life had taken a backseat that night and majority of the attendees looked as if they were enjoying themselves; even Lux had gone, but he was just worried that his brothers might have given him hell for wanting to attend. Ah well. The kid was going to enjoy the night when he wanted. Someone approached him then and the smile was back on his face, finally remembering he was here for work. “Anything I can help you with?”

mina hadn’t really dressed up much, and if anything it was difficult trying to pick a dress that suited her figure now and how she was looking. but after a while, she’d at least found a nice red dress that fitted the occasion, it was fancy enough, yet also staff appropriate so that she could monitor the dance with the other staff members. it was just interesting for mina, seeing those that she knew formerly as a student, now all around here whilst he was a staff member instead. she hadn’t bothered with a stupid mask though as she moved over to the side where she saw another standing. seungcheol, apparently. “you say that like i’m still a student.” she hummed out, water in her hand because like hell she was going near the drinks in here. “besides admitting that it would’ve been nice for some help with the high schoolers outside, i’m fine and the situation is under control there. what are you doing besides standing around watching the kids here?”

He didn’t know what he was doing here. Well, he did, he just wanted to wallow in self-pity; it was something he was pretty good at if he was being honest about it. But if it weren’t for Tristan and Daewon, he probably wouldn’t even attend this masquerade or whatever the fuck the Keisung administrators came up with. He did like dressing up now and then—his maroon and black ensemble spoke of this commitment—but this was just ridiculous. He touched the red and gold mask his boyfriend made for him and a smirk made its way on his face; well at least the mask hid his identity. Someone stands beside him and he frowns—he’d been wanting to be left alone after all. “Yes?” Well at least the mask hid his identity.

mina knew a lot of people from before in her time in keisung as a student, and the brainiacs were a main figure there considering how long she’d stayed with them before switching to inferior, but even then, mina had still spent enough time in the library considering that was still her go to place, and even now, she was a librarian for gods sake. but now, she’d only been making her way to get some fresh air really when she’s stopped by a familiar voice. “who says that me coming over here was to bother you?” her head tilts, a hint of amusement, but tiredness in her voice too.

being back at keisung hadn’t really ever been on her agenda, not when she’d left with the thought of it being for good-- but needing a stable and settled place and job, it was how mina, ex junior anyway, found herself back as a staff member. today being her first official day in the school too as she settled in her office-- with that, she hadn’t expected someone to apparently need to see her so soon as she heard the knock at the door before the sound of a creak as it opened. and with a tired roll of her eyes as mina leaned back against the desk now instead, she faced the apparent intruder. “can i help you with something?” and honestly, even that felt odd to say given that she’d been a student before, and now she wasn’t. so having to say that as a member of staff, was definitely a change.

so... which admin said she was stopping at four and is now here with a fifth? this girl! aka it’s your girl kat and this is mina, previous keisung muse that has gone through like 3 faceclaims now i think, but either way this is a newly revamped version mhm. idk she used to be a brainiac, then an inferior, and now she’s a teaching aid and librarian, wow. also, she’s four months pregnant.. new development right there.

mother was a single 16 yr old that got kicked disowned

lived on the streets till she was 3 then moved in with a man that basically became her father ( learned to pick pocket, hack, handle information and just a lot of criminal shit for him as well as self defence )

his relationship with her mother was abusive and mina often saw the tail end of it 

she left with the man when she was ten and moved to seoul with him and started learning to hack then as well

at thirteen she was basically a child prodigy and genius ( her iq is 189 ) and she was also fighting bullies and stealing from rich kids bcos they pissed her off 

could’ve gotten into any university but chose keisung because of the anonymity ( she works for a secret underground information business as a hacker )

her father was murderer when she was twenty one

she dropped down from brainiac to inferior right after 

then just before twenty three she just up and left bcos she had stuff to do for her agency 

few months later they finished everything, and whilst drunk mina had a one night stand with a familiar face ( plot point if you want to be the father c: ) and basically forgot most of the night 

found out she was pregnant a month later  

never wanted to be but hey wow pregnancy

managed to get eave from her agency on the grounds she couldn’t do it whilst pregnant or focus, and they surprisingly let her

4 months into her pregnancy too and she’s now at keisung as a staff member ( ta & librarian ) instead of a student, wow

so yea, also she’s really secretive about her past so you probably won’t know much, and definitely not that she’s a professional hacker and basically a criminal 

pregnancy wise she is showing, but not majorly so tbh given her build is pretty small and thin, you can see the bump from certain angles pretty clearly, but also it depends on what she’s wearing as well but she’s not exactly trying to keep it a secret bcos she can’t?

but yea-- also she’s only been gone like 9-10 months, so if you were at keisung before you probably knew her so surprise she’s back

little bit of a know it all because she’s probably smarter than the majority of you combined and she knows that, also given the fact she didn’t even need to complete her degree to get the job..

blunt, will tell you straight up what you want instead of beating around the push, also won’t take your crap so if you piss her off when she’s taking the class then you’re out.

surprisingly though, her caring side and sympathy is starting to slowly show more now as the pregnancy goes on, which kind of shocks even her but she supposed that her maternal instincts are starting to kick in
