Dorian Tavic, or “Tav” for strangers and enemies, is a 26 year old tiefling, and sorcerer. He likes being the hero but isn’t above a bit of thievery or casual murder (is he can reasonably justify it). He’s a gender non-conforming gay trans man, uses he/him and is in a committed relationship with Wyll. Leading his party he tried to see the good in everyone, from convincing Shadowheart to spare Aylin, to helping Astarion heal. Though unfortunately he did not spare Minthara, as he saw her no different than any other enemy.
He enjoys exploring, blowing things up, pickpocketing authorities, dancing, fashion and magic, though he can’t stand to read. In fact, he’s pretty bad at reading, but don’t tell Gale that. There’s no problem disintegrate and fireball can’t solve.
Relationship wise, he’s in love with Wyll, though flirted with Gale and really wanted to sleep with Halsin. He’d never cheat on Wyll though, unless you count the Emperor but a few secrets can’t hurt. He also laid with Haarlep, but Wyll understood, although would have rather just fought him. He likes Astarion way more than Astarion likes him, although the two could be considered friends. He’s close with all the others except Jaheria and Minsc, who he see’s more as simple acquaintances.
He allowed the hag to pluck his eye out, but drew the line at letting Volo try. He also became half illithid, but through some spells he got the veins to a minimum. He doesn’t regret either choice he made.
He doesn’t remember much of his childhood, mostly because it was so simple and easy. He didn’t partially get along with his parents but it wasn’t abusive or anything. He grew up learning to cook, paint homes and clean, and eventually waited tables and delivered letters and packages in the Lower City after his father passed away and his mother moved south to a tropical city, before passing some years later. Although Dorian doesn’t actually remember, he and Wyll actually met once when they were teens. He’d gone to Wyll’s fishing spot at Wyrm Rock, trying to find a way to sneak in through the back, but he ran off when he saw Wyll was there. Wyll thought it was kind of weird, but didn’t think anything of it. Wyll vaguely remembers because Dorian looks different than most teiflings he’s met, but Dorian didn’t get a good look at Wyll.
Dorian discovered that he could do magic naturally when he was around a tween, just messing around in the gardens by himself. He only really started to focus his skills when he turned twenty. He tried attending school for wizardry so he could learn about the Weave but quickly dropped out after only a week. The rest of his magic journey consisted of just doing whatever felt right and hoping it worked.
I just discovered acrylic paint markers and I love them so much! I want to do small portraits of all of the companions (including Minthara even though Dorian didn’t recruit her). So I can add that to my ever growing list of drawing and writing projects.
