this proves that if you take away all the horrible dialogue, awkwardness, bad editing, and repulsive graphics from the prequels, they could have really been something worthwhile

Commader Arvel Crynyd was awarded the New Republic Medal of Bravery posthumously. In addition to this, a new award for acts of conspicuous bravery during space-to-space fighting was created to honor him, known as the Crynyd Award.

Resurgent-class Star Destroyer, The Finalizer
I LOVE MY SASSY CHILDREN ARE YOU KIDDING ME???
My question is why perform a gravity drop of bombs in space? There’s a multitude of better ways to put the bombs on target than what they did
It wasn’t gravity. They bombs were magnetic. Also I dunno why the Resistance wasn’t so shitty with tactics lol
Since the B/SF-17 was loosely based on the B-17 flying fortress, I'd guess it was simply an homage. Many Star Wars vehicles were inspired by WW2 designes after all.
Executor-class Star Dreadnought/ Super Star destroyer Built by Kuat Drive Yards, these 19 kilometer long behemoths were one of the galactic empires most imposing and lethal ships. They were crewed by over 280000 stormtroopers, fighter pilots, officers engineers and other personell. On top of that, they boasted and impressive array of over 5000 turbolasers and ion cannons. For comparison, the empires standard star destroyer, the Imperial II-class was armed with 120 turbolasers and ion cannons. The Executor-class also carried a complement of at least 144 TIE-Fighters, as well as dropships and AT-AT walkers.
Due to their overwhealming firepower and impressive shielding, the Executor-class SSDs were often considered as the strongest ship the empire had to its disposal.
Here’s a list of all known Executor-class SSDs and what became of them, (This includes Star Wars EU)
Annihilator: First ship of the class. flagship of Admiral Garne. Destroyed above Kuat while defending the half-constructed SSD Eclipse, 4ABY (*EU)
Executor: The flagship of Darth Vader. Destroyed during the battle of Endor when an A-Wing Pilot steered his craft into the central comand bridge, causing the destroyer to plummet into the Death Star II. 4ABY
Arbitrator: Was destroyed due to a poorly plotted hyperspace jump, which dropped it into the middle of a gravity well. She was lost with all hands aboard.
Eclipse: Flagship of Galactic Emperor Sheev Palpatine. Was Believed to be destroyed in 5ABY, but edvidence discovered by former grand admiral Rae Sloan suggests that it wasn’t.
Ravager: Was believed to be the empires last operational SSD. It was under the command of Fleet Admiral Gallius Rax. The Ravager was lost during the battle of Jakku in 5ABY
(The Ravagers Final moments as it falls towards Jakku.)
Five further Executor-class SSDs were allegedly destroyed in battle The Canon doesn’t specifically state the ships by name, but the Expanded Universe Suggests that the ships in question were: -The Aggressor -The Enforcer -The Iron Fist -The Razor’s Kiss -The Reaper
Three other Executor-class SSDs were taken over by the New Republic. The exact names for these ships are not known in canon but the Expanded universe suggests that the ships in question were: -The Lusankya -The Guardian -The Intimidator
