What attracts you to malbus? You're probably the only one regularly making content with this forgotten pairing. Doesn't it bother you that Albus is canonically gay?
I've always been a little amused by how many people are surprised by a ship like Malbus and by the fact that there are people in the fandom who ship them. Yes, Albus is canonically gay. But it's not written in the books, and it's mostly known from Rowling's interviews and additional materials and in the Fantastic Beasts films. Actually, that's not even the point. In canon, we have many male characters of heterosexual orientation. Take James Potter, for example. But he is calmly shipped with Regulus Black, and no one gets outraged or asks how one can ship Jegulus when Jily is canon. Or let's look at Minerva's canonical orientation. She is heterosexual, but modern fans see her as a lesbian and ship her with Poppy Pomfrey, forgetting that she was married to Urquart. Fanon ships always, to a greater or lesser extent, deviate from canon, and that must always be taken into account, not just for ships related to LGBTQ.
What attracts me to Malbus first and foremost is the great deal of trust and mutual support between Albus and Minerva. They are a prime example of hurt/comfort, and they are very similar. The eldest children in their families, with conflict between their parents (Isabel lying to Robert, Percival's arrest, Kendra alone with the children), loneliness and feeling misunderstood (Isabel and Minerva are clearly not close, Kendra paid more attention to Ariana than to her sons). Albus and Minerva are intelligent, talented, passionate about Transfiguration, and they are both teachers.
The age difference, for which there is no detailed information (Rowling removed Minerva's 1935 birth year, and I headcanon their age gap to be 20 years), doesn't bother me, nor does the existence of other canonical love interests for Albus and Minerva. I'm not attracted to the Grindeldore relationship due to its toxicity and the way it's romanticized. The connection with Grindelwald was more of a big mistake for Dumbledore, not a great love. I don't like Minerva's relationship with Urquart because she repeatedly refused to marry him, and her first love with Dougal seems more like an escape from loneliness.
I believe Albus and Minerva could have grown very close during Minerva's seventh year (Before that, they had a good relationship, but it didn't go beyond the distance of a teacher and a student). He helped her become an Animagus, they became friends. I believe Minerva would be drawn to an older partner. She is intelligent and talented, with emotional wounds that her peers wouldn't understand. Albus, on the other hand, avoids long-term attachments (though I don't see Albus as a recluse who never had relationships) and doesn't wish to form a bond with anyone, but he lets Minerva get close, doesn't see her as a threat, and then grows attached and feels responsible for their relationship. Albus and Minerva are, for me, somewhat like reflections of each other. They both have skeletons in the closet, and they open up their pain to one another without fear of being vulnerable. Their relationship would, of course, face difficulties, which only makes it more intriguing. An attraction could have arisen from such a relationship. And it's so interesting! It involves forbidden relationships and drama. A fertile ground for thought. This attracts me. I'm not saying everyone should support my opinion, but I believe Malbus has great potential among most fanon ships
Harry Potter's fifth year. Minerva is concerned about Umbridge imposing her own order on Hogwarts, and Fudge is extremely negative towards Albus. Albus tries to reassure her in his own way: flirting and a little romance between the hustle and bustle of work.

A quick reminder for those who don't ship Malbus:
•Everyone knows that in canon, Albus is gay. But that doesn't mean that Malbus can't exist. This fanon couple has the right to exist just like any other. None of you are outraged when Minerva who has a heterosexual orientation in canon is shipped with Poppy or Pomona.
•There is no exact information about the age difference between Dumbledore and McGonagall. 1935 was removed from Pottermore after the release of "Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald". So here, everyone has their own headcanon.
•And no one is embarrassed by a fanon couple like Voldemort and Hermione Granger. Or Grindelwald and Hermione Grange.
•Malbus events are held for the sake of shippers. Our couple is rare and we want to enjoy new content not respond to stupid comments. If you don't ship Albus and Minerva just skip our content and tags and go in peace.

The 1920s, Oxford. A young and eccentric art historian, obsessed with the mystery of an ancient artifact, is forced to join forces with a novice but incredibly gifted restorer. Albus Dumbledore is a professor of art history. For many years, he has been searching for the 'Alabaster Lion' – a legendary medieval carved seal, a symbol of a lost student guild considered to be a myth.Minerva McGonagall is a recent graduate of the Courtauld Institute of Art, hired for the position of restorer at the Bodleian Library in Oxford. While restoring the binding of a rare 14th-century manuscript, Minerva discovers a hidden diagram within the layers of the parchment – a plan for a secret passage in one of Oxford's oldest colleges. The drawing is marked with a small, barely noticeable image of a lion. When she shares her find with the curator, she encounters skepticism. She is directed to "the only person who seriously studies these lions" – Professor Dumbledore. They meet, and Albus proposes the theory that the blueprint is the key to everything. Minerva believes it is just another one of his theories. However, the next morning, that very manuscript disappears from the library's archives. Minerva will have to turn to Albus for help to find what was lost.

Okay, I have my own fanon on this topic and also some headcanons I want to share as part of the themed week. First, I'll write the main text of my thoughts, after which I'll add some explanatory points at the end.
When I think about Albus and Minerva together, I want to see them happy, having gotten a second chance, and I believe a shared life with children fits into this. But they didn't come to this immediately. And, of course, they continued the tradition of naming their children with names starting with the letter "A."
Their first, eldest child is Archibald Dumbledore. He was born on July 24, 1926*. And it wasn't planned. Minerva simply found out she was expecting a child due to feeling unwell (constant nausea) and at first thought she was feeling poorly because of constant stress and anxiety. For her and Albus, this was a surprise and, to some extent, a test. It added more responsibility. When the boy was born, they were, of course, happy.
A few facts about Archie: He was sorted into Gryffindor, and in his youth, his character resembles a young Albus, which to some degree added to the worries. Albus was concerned that his son, like him, would make mistakes. Nevertheless, they had a rather trusting relationship, and Albus tried to guide and support his son, taking his own experience into account. For he himself had grown up without a father. Minerva didn't have problems with Archie. She is an older sister and from childhood knew how to handle restless boys. Another interesting fact: Archie helped facilitate communication between Albus and Aberforth because he loved to frequently visit his grumpy uncle and talk with him. Archie, I think, inherited his mother's love for Quidditch and became interested in alchemy during his final year at school.
After 2-3 years, a girl was born to them — Ada Dumbledore. She was born in the autumn, on September 29. And this decision was a conscious one. I think they wanted a second child when they realized they were handling the responsibility well. Initially, Albus and Minerva considered naming her Ariana after Dumbledore's deceased sister, but in the end, it proved too difficult for Albus. He also thought it would be more appropriate to leave that name for Aberforth, who might very well settle down someday. Given that Minerva had experienced rather strained relations with her own mother, Isobel Ross, she worried that the scenario would repeat itself in her relationship with Ada. But thanks to Albus's support, this didn't happen. They got along well, and Minerva grew to love her daughter very much. But to a greater extent, Ada is her father's favorite. Although she loves both her parents equally.
She was sorted into Ravenclaw. She adored cats and reading Muggle classics. Unlike Archie, Ada had a calmer and more peaceful disposition. She studied well but never joined large crowds. Ada enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. In the future, she wanted to connect her career with healing.
*After Minerva was added to "Fantastic Beasts," Rowling removed her 1935 birth year. I always imagined McGonagall to be older. So my headcanon is that she was born on October 4th, 1901.
