Hi! My name is Maji (ma-jee). I started this blog in July 2024 because I had writer's block but now writing is becoming something I do daily that I love showing up for! I'm very excited about that.

RANDOM THINGS ABOUT ME

I have OSDD1b and I'm part of a system, a small piece of a whole. Basically, it's the old "many rats in a trenchcoat" thingy.

Because I can write I have decided this means I have to try my hand at writing novels, game writing, interactive stories and visual novels. Don't ask me where my projects are. I murder them routinely.

I used to be able to read 300 page books in a day. I'd just get so lost in the sauce. Now I'm lucky if I read a whole chapter. How I have fallen. 😔 (Trying to fix this by reading an hour at a time) Edit: it's working! Edit: um...

I'm neurodivergent with agoraphobia and other stuff, I'm pretty sure...

Once I forced myself to finish writing (on my phone) while falling asleep because I wanted to hit a goal and it was terrible. I felt like I was in purgatory, half lucid dreaming and then waking up to find I had begun to type down my dream. I'm pretty sure that's not what the post above is about, but don't be like me, lol

writing is such a fun hobby! step 1: spend 3 hours writing. step 2: reread it and die inside. step 3: close the doc for 2-5 business months. step 4: repeat

I'm tired of the "rise to power" plot. You spend the whole time watching the weak main character get ground into the dirt up until the very end where they finally power up and defeat the antagonist.

Give me "fall from power" instead. I want to see an MC who is unbeatable from day one, who is so good at what they do. It's success after success until something happens and they lose everything. And no, they don't gain back what they've lost in this story. Save the redemption arc for the sequel.

Character B: "I speak their language, I can do it!"

Character A: "No. Remember what you did to the last guy?" mentions soul-crushing destruction brought on by Character B

Character B: affronted "Yeah, well, he was rude!"

How to use Em Dash (—) and Semi Colon ( ; )

Since the ai accusations are still being thrown around, here's how i personally like to use these GASP ai telltales. 🦄✨

Em Dashes (—)

To emphasize a shift / action / thought.

They're accusing us—actually accusing us—of using AI.

To add drama.

They dismissed our skills as AI—didn't even think twice, the dimwits—and believed they were onto something.

To insert a sudden thought. Surely they wouldn't do that to us—would they?

To interrupt someone's speech. "Hey, please don't say that. I honed my craft through years of blood and tears—" "Shut up, prompter."

To interrupt someone's thoughts / insert a sudden event.

We're going to get those kudos. We're going to get those reblogs—

A chronically online Steve commented, “it sounds like ai, idk.”

Semi Colons ( ; )

To join two closely related independent sentences / connect ideas.

Not only ChatGPT is capable of correct punctuation; who do you think it learned from in the first place?

Ultimate pro tip: use them whenever the fuck you want. You don't owe anyone your creative process. 🌈
