Can you blame him though
Lupita Nyong’o as NAKIA in Black Panther (2018) dir. Ryan Coogler
His father’s legacy. Her brother’s keeper. Her nation’s honor. Her king’s love.
Black Panther dir. Ryan Coogler
Black Panther (2018), dir. Ryan Coogler.
“Imagine that the world is made out of love. Now imagine that it isn’t. Imagine a story where everything goes wrong, where everyone has their back against the wall, where everyone is in pain and acting selfishly because if they don’t, they’ll die. Imagine a story, not of good against evil, but of need against need against need, where everyone is at cross-purposes and everyone is to blame.” ― Richard Siken
Also, black panther was able to portray strong, dark black women without hypermascunalizing them so like, take note.
I identify with Nakia’s independent spirit and feeling her loyalty to her country. It means a lot to her to make her people proud and I understand that. I relate to that. That was my into figuring out who she was. I love a woman who is on a mission to make a difference which is what she’s on. — Lupita Nyong’o
not to sound like an old white lady but that shit is breathtaking bro

M’baku is 100% in it for the drama. Examples:
Makes grandiose speeches and is willing to die trying to get the throne
Let’s Nakia, Shuri, Ramonda, and Everett kneel before him - proclaiming him the person they’re willing to follow and stand behind, knowing full well T’challa is alive
Saves that info until he’s convinced they mean it (bc he feels his people have been slighted and deserves the respect - true)
Threatens to feed Everett to his children
Constantly interrupts heartfelt family moments
Refuses to give aid to T’challa when he asks
Shows up when and/or waits until T’challa is losing and helps turn the tide of battle
“I am a warrior in the time of women warriors; the longing for justice is the sword I carry.” ― Sonia Johnson
