@kungfucowboystyle
If I hadn’t talked about this before, but this blog having low activity is going to be a present theme from here on out.
The two biggest reasons is that 1) my schedule for this semester demands a lot more time and energy from me than last year, 2) my interest in Xiaolin Showdown has waned significantly, which kind of makes it hard to find the motivation to write?
Don’t get me wrong, I still very much love Clay and company, it’s just hard to do something that doesn’t give you the same spark, y’know? Here’s hoping I manage to keep chugging along for the future.
there he is, my moon my sun
I ship these potatoes together~♥
dang ol’ cutie…
xiaolindude:
‘kay, so maybe Clay had a point, but that didn’t mean Rai had to like it. Or acknowledge it. “Yeah, well, what the Fung-meister doesn’t know won’t hurt us,” he insisted breezily. “Besides, he should be proud of me for mastering my element.’ If that’s what you could call using wind power to dust the temple… It totally counted if you asked him.
It was a nice gesture and if he were being honest, Rai was actually kinda touched. Not that he’d let it show. Shoving his hands in his pockets, he huffed out a breath and rolled his eyes. “Fine, whatever. That works I guess,” he groused.
The eye-roll made him want to roll his own, but Clay took the high road instead. At least he was being meet halfway and that was good enough for him. “Much obliged partner. Just give me five minutes top and I’ll corral the heard for ‘ya.” he thanked.
Fortunately, he was rather fond of dusting kink-knacks and sweeping the floors. There wasn’t much dust to begin with and Clay could spend more time gawking at all the little tidbits scattered around the temple.
“... Actually, now that I think about it, Master Fung would probably have a fit over ‘ya usin’ yer element.” the cowboy smirked, returning to his friend’s comment.
kimintsugi:
“…” She stares at him as he continues confidently. She doesn’t quite understand what he’s going on about, but she’s become interested in what he has to say. Simply, her curiosity has been piqued. “How can you tell if a cow likes you or not?”
“Well they kinda have this attitude y’know? They won’t respond to bein’ called, hate bein’ handled when it’s feedin’ time. Kind of have this angry snort, which also makes ‘ya think yer about to be trampled.” Clay gestured with his hands.
“Course, if everythin’s good, then none of that happens and y’all be all right!”
What made you grow your hair out Clay? Don’t it get hotter like that?
“My hair was gettin’ shaggy to begin with, so I’d figured why not let it keep growin’? And nah, I haven’t noticed a different in heat. The summers down here feel the same to me.”
There’s a small gift sitting upright on the porch Christmas morning, wrapped in red paper and gold ribbon. Inside the box is black cardboard and a then a rather snazzy bolo tie. The clasp seemed to be hand-made, a silvery cows skull fitted with a blue stone, braided black leather cinched together by it. A little note lay on top, “Thanks for everything cowboy. Have a good holiday. — Jack”
Now this was something he truly did not expect, especially from someone he knew for a brief summer weekend. Clay took the bolo tie in hand and looked at it carefully, admiring its fine detail and craftsmanship. He felt a little guilty accepting it because he had nothing in return to give Jack right away.
“I have his phone number somewhere, don’t I?” Clay rubbed his chin in thought. Looks like it was time to make a call.
How does the Bailey family celebrate Christmas? You get a lot of family comin in?
“Oh for sure, we got kin comin’ out of the wazoo! It’s a real hootenanny at the ranch, the type of presents ‘ya get depends what age ‘ya are. Usually the relatives are keen on givin’ toys to the little ones and then clothes ‘n practical things when gettin’ older. There’s the annual Christmas dinner too, but it’s a lot more casual than Thanksgiving’s.”
How’s Jessie these days?
“She’s all right I’d guess. Saw her durin’ Christmas with the family. It looks like Jess got herself a new motorcycle. I’ll tell her y’all said hi.”
Oh please Jack, you’re not fooling anyone.
@ glithch After drawing this, I realized I wasn’t sure if you wanted all three of them together, but hopefully this is alright. x3
“In my house, Thanksgiving’s a competition. If ‘ya think yer gonna out plate a Bailey at the table, then yer sadly mistaken partner.”
