hey! let’s talk about those lil soundtrack snippets, since i love analyzing music, and especially love finding character motifs in said music.

this track plays during the final scenes of “saving omi”, starting at the point where rai, kim, and clay get to chase’s lair.
0:18-0:49 ~ sweet baby among us. we don’t talk about sweet baby among us. damn it, dashi.
1:05-1:27 ~ this is most likely heylin omi’s theme, or simply the overarching theme of the “__ing omi” story.
1:34-3:46 ~ ying-yang world theme.
2:55-3:46 ~ a ying-yang-ified version of heylin omi’s theme.
4:26-6:16 ~ the final battle. it just sounds awesome.
6:17-6:27 ~ a sweeter version of the “group anthem” theme, using one of omi’s motif instruments.
6:28-6:42 ~ lmfao jack. any time the music features an electric guitar or industrial noises, it’s most likely jack-related.
6:43-7:04 ~ chase’s theme.
7:04-7:08 ~ rai’s motif! this plays at several instances throughout the series, all of them rai-related. rai’s themes usually feature some sort of flute (pan flute??), tambourine, and percussion. occasionally there’s an acoustic guitar thrown in. i think the biggest instance of rai having a clear theme is during “the last temptation of raimundo”, where he’s explaining to the monks how he needed to stop a volcano from destroying his home town. (and they don’t believe him lmfao)
7:11-7:34 ~ chase transforms and almost straight up murders rai lmfao.
7:42-8:54 ~ a more sinister version of heylin omi’s theme with a sweet, but sad ending played with another one of omi’s motif instruments. (i should mention that omi’s main motif instruments are an erhu, dizi (bamboo flute), and occasionally a piccolo.)
