This blog is about rambles and fanarts of Degrees of Lewdity, it'll be focused mainly on Avery x PC and the villains but I'll see where inspiration strikes. ^^
All my drawings are tagged as #my art
As mentioned in the headline, I'm an adult and won't interact with minors.
It’s such a struggle being a traditional artist at times because wdym her hair is suddenly three shades lighter than in person 😭 it’s supposed to be like an ashy brown so let’s just pretend it is! :’)
“We have the Bones and a more than eager sacrifice. Now the final steps are all up to you — as far as we are concerned, you’re therefore the biggest liability. Just remember it. And remember as well, my friend, that there's plenty of room in my stables for liabilities.”
What good does a hu-cow farm if you won't use it to threaten your so-called 'friends'? :3
“Instead of sitting beside him on the sofa, you sit sideways in Avery's lap. He seems caught off guard for a moment, but then he relaxes with a smug smile on his lips. You simply sit with him for a while, listening to him talk about his day.”
Another mansion scene :3 they're so fun to draw ^^
Trying to eyeball two sitting characters's height difference is a nightmare -- I've resized Elinor a billion times and still wonder if she appears too short compared to her actual height lol
A slight explanation regarding her childhood under the cut :)
I haven't fleshed out the details regarding who her parents are (since I don't really want that to be a focal point yet), but Alisa was left by the orphanage's doorstep as a baby. The most I'll say is that she's originally from out of town, growing up under Bailey's care after being left in DoLtown.
Alisa isn't really curious of her origins, more so focused on her replacement parental figure who always seem so sure and dependable. Bailey’s goons initially has difficulty with handling her because she would cry whenever Bailey is out of sight, only calming down whenever he's near.
While Bailey isn't violent with her—since she never acts up anyways besides the minor inconveniences—Alisa witnesses firsthand how the older orphans would be treated.
(A/N: I believe I've seen the QnA where the living quarters for minors and older orphans are separated, but since Alisa sticks to Bailey a lot in her younger years, I'm sure she's able to see snippets of it)
In her perspective, the punishments are reasonable as they've disappointed Bailey (not paying rent on time, threatening his reputation, etc). She vows never to make the same mistakes when it'll be her turn to contribute, hence why her forwardness and impulsive behavior gradually decreased with age.
She isn't defiant, but Alisa does adopt Bailey's caution and calculativeness under all her naivety—subconsciously, whether she notices or not.
Alisa is still hopeful and overly trusting to everyone she meets, but she always weighs the relationship and actions she makes, whether it'd affect Bailey in any sort of way. If it's beneficial for him, she'd disregard her own comfort and well being for it (the adoption with Avery, exerting herself to get more money, and such).
Her fear of being viewed as useless and expendable by Bailey is much greater than her self-preservation, hence why she'd truly do anything he asks <3
TLDR; Child!Alisa is a handful dependent menace while she’s now more toned down bc she’s afraid that Bailey would find another high earning orphan (he won’t. she generates the most income.)
Buttering up the Mayor so that daddy Avery can build his abomination... or something like this, I simply love Quinn and I'm gonna make it my PC's problem >:}
Also, Elinor might be quite high as a kite here as she thought herself clever, ignored Bailey's advice and swapped her drink with Quinn's, not knowing Quinn spiked them both ;3
