Despite not calling myself a DOL blog, I mentioned the game anyway because 1) I still interact with other DOL blogs, and 2) my OCs started off as DOL PCs, and even now they're still in the same setting: a corrupt, dangerous, supernaturally-afflicted town where a lot of sexual assault happens.

I'm working on tweaking certain parts of DOL's lore, setting and canon characters to make my own comic for these OCs, but it's basically a DOL ripoff and I feel like it's necessary to bring that up.

One of my Esmee-Heavy RPs in the planning stage is to be set in the 2010s, so I thought back to this time and recalled what I was super into - and it felt right that Esmee would be about this life, too. (Although I don't think she's the best example of the pro-recovery aspects of the subculture... Thinking that's possible for her takes some Growth on her part...)

Anyway, yeah. I put her in some outfits about it. I think the middle one is probably the most classic 2010s Menhera styled? But the other 2 are also very Her. (I'm not sure if the first one even counts? Not quite The Palette and more Religious themed, but. The Thought Process was there. I wanted the shirt to be something adjacent to being blue mold coloured to lean into the rot idea.)

(Also in looking for references for this, it was a bit inconvenient that it was hard to find outfits Of The Time, buuuut, it made me happy to know something that brought me a lot of comfort when I was really struggling is still alive and well ^-^)
