If you're writing anything involving cons, scams, heists, or morally questionable characters who are very good at lying, here are some free resources I've been using for research. Saving you the "why is this in my search history" anxiety.
1. The FBI's Famous Cases & Criminals archive (fbi.gov/history/famous-cases) has detailed breakdowns of real fraud cases, Ponzi schemes, and confidence operations. The language they use is clinical and precise, which is perfect for getting the procedural details right.
2. The FTC Consumer Sentinel Network publishes annual reports on the most common fraud tactics in the US. Great for understanding how modern scams actually work and what makes people fall for them.
3. The Smithsonian's American Art Museum has a free digital collection of forgery case studies. If your character forges documents or art, this is gold.
4. Court Listener (courtlistener.com) is a free legal database where you can read actual court transcripts from fraud trials. Want to know how a real con artist talks under oath? This is where you find out.
5. The Internet Archive's collection of old newspaper crime sections. Search for "confidence man" or "swindle" in papers from the 1920s through 1960s and you'll find incredible real stories that would feel too dramatic for fiction.
Bonus: The Psychology of Fraud section on the Association for Psychological Science website has accessible articles about why people trust, how deception works cognitively, and what makes someone a convincing liar. Essential reading if you want your con artist characters to feel psychologically real.

This is both extremely dramatic and also not canon-esque at all, like i dont see anything remotely like this happening, but it was fun. I do want to see them argue. Not only fight knives-and-guns-blazing, but like an ideological crossroads. In this case: their approaches to their life views. Aside from the obvious ideologies they've adopted from garden and wise, Twilight is very self-sacrificial, seeming not to care about the impact his death would have on those depending on him, putting everything in for the mission. On the other hand, Yor knows the importance of life, she had to live in order for her brother to live, she takes lives up-close so she knows their weight and how easily they can be snuffed out. Therefore, she's more careful about being able to make it home so that she can be there for her family.
with this most recent arc, even though she isn't getting a full view of how much harm he puts himself in, that last panel in the last chapter of him dragging himself in the hospital (although it was funny) kinda got me thinking. What if yor got an inkling of how little he cared for himself? and what if, when confronted about it, he refused to stand down?

I saw my name mentioned again in some write-up and for the benefit of the doubt I will assume some Clotis are still not convinced that Cloud loves Tifa romantically. Now like I’ve said like a dozen times already, Cloud’s love for Tifa will not reduce whataver feeling Cloud has for Aerith and vice versa. This article will present the evidences showing that Cloud and Tifa love each other romantically for many years in different shades.

he's always the quickest to defend her from other people, especially in the spinoff (he literally tells itona "you're making okuda-san uncomfortable" meanwhile he's got part of the wall in his neck hes got priorities om gom gsj)
she sits diagonally away from him at the back and is constantly used to look back at him in worry
in the anime he's always somehow sitting next to her and smiling at her. especially in the road trip arc where he smiles at her when she joins their group and is sitting next to her during the planning and cranes his neck to look at her when she joins the other girls in getting water
also when they were getting roses for irina the shopkeeper says stuff abt the flowers (RED RED ROSES THAT TOTALLY MEAN NOTHING) there are coincidentally three pairs of boys & girls, and they look at each other. they are nagikae (one is crushing), kanzaki & sugino (one is crushing) AND YOU GUESSED IT. KARMANAMI. LOOKING AT EACH OTHER OVER A BOUQUET OF RED ROSES INTENDED TO GET TWO PEOPLE TOGETHER
while it's not as clear in the manga you do see both sugikan & nagikae looking at each other and a blob of black that usually indicates okuda in the corner. now where could karma be haha...
the author probably ships them at this rate imagine. and lerche too probably they expanded the panel of okuda looking at him in worry to fully pan out so far im screaming
don't forget how authors usually work closely with the animators!! esp since matsui did have a lot of influence in how the last arc was done bc he wanted to line up the dates for the anime & manga
karma tells okuda she's looking very fired up during the tests arc to encourage her which means he was looking at her and that means nothing right. such a meaningless interaction that they KEPT IN FOR NO REASON...

okuda standing up for karma in the kill vs save (WHICH WASNT INCLUDED IN THE ANIME. WHY.) she talks about how she wants karma to win, because she knows that he works hard, and that even though she wants to save korosensei she would want him to win because hes done so much.
she also got really worried when it came down to karma & nagisa fighting bc she knows karma was working towards it LIKE????
he also recognizes her hard work during the maths test against asano. "as they claim their part of the cube, i also claim it too" etc etc OKUDAS ONE OF THE PEOPLE HE MENTIOSN NEXT TO NAGISA
there's even a panel abt it in the manga where he's like "okuda can get really absorbed into the things she's passionate qbout" with her and a science book kmskmsksmsk even nagisa didn't get one she's literally so special
when korosensei was fighting yanagisawa he GRABS OKUDA BY THE WRIST AND LEADS HER AWAY FROM THE FIGHT SAYING "RUNNING AWAY IS ALSO ONE OF OUR TACTICS" WHICH REFERENCES THE KIDNAPPING ARC WHERE SHE CHOSE TO RUN THEREFORE AFFIRMING HER CHOICE???? IM GONNA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAQQAAAAAA
when asked to choose a person you'd date they both chose each other BASICALLY. karma bc she's good at potion making and can supply his pranks (thinking abt soemthing other than looks when all the other boys were) and when all the girls said karma looks nice but his personality is bad okuda's the one who speaks up saying he isn't scary like ok. i need more of u two pls
also they were paired tgt by korosensei for matchmaking he knew what was going on
in the future spinoff abt visiting kaede someone was hitting on okuda and karma straight up places himself between them and escorts her away... wow...
karma also planted a thing okuda made for him on the guy which makes it seem like theyve been speaking outside of this as well

They have sooo many poems and countless moments in the story, that it’s impossible to write them all down in a couple of sentences. I recommend you to read an ichiruki pairing analysis! There are a looot of them out there and they are all so good 🥺💯 goes right through my shipping heart 🥺💘
And at last, they just work so well together 🥰 ichigo has a very strong character and voices his opinions and doesn’t know how to hold back. He needs somebody as strong to not go under or get hurt easily. Rukia is veeery strong and knows how to handle ichigos energy. And knows exactly what to do to lift him up when he’s at the ground. They understand each other the best. And they are just the most funny couple ever 😂 with them you’d always be 💯 entertained 🥳
