RUN! RUN!!
also a homura doodle. understand her deeply
There are a lot of moments in Rebellion that get to me, but this one right here really stood out to me on my most recent rewatch.
When Homura is seeking comfort from Madoka (who she, at the time, believes could just be an illusion or copy conjured by someone to trick her), Madoka begins to comfortingly braid her hair (obviously calling to mind Homura from the beginning of her journey, when she was docile, shy, and relied on Madoka for help).
As soon as she prods Madoka for her opinion about her sacrifice, however (and Madoka herself currently doesn't remember making such a sacrifice, mind you) she's horrified by the implications when Madoka's answer suggests she would never do something like that willingly.
She becomes entirely convinced in that moment that Madoka's sacrifice was a brave face she was putting on, and that she should never have let Madoka do it in the first place.
And then, the braid undoes itself. It falls back into place into Homura as we now know her. It's a visual indication that even with this comfort, all of the things she's been put through cannot be erased or reversed. She will always carry her experiences with her, and they've absolutely changed her perspective on things fundamentally. She cannot go back to who she used to be, yet she so desperately wants that for Madoka, literally talking to what is - in essence - a past version of her who has no idea what kind of choices she'd be willing to make in the future. One of many, many reasons she does what she does at the film's end.
you ever just sit and realise u can’t remember 80% of your childhood? like … what happened? who am i ..?
Many people in the comments are saying “trauma”, but this is actually a very normal occurrence. It’s called Childhood Amnesia, and it’s a process which, as the brain reorganizes itself for cognitive thought that is developed in late childhood, it changes the Accessibility of those memories during recall. Many childhood memories are available to the person, but they will not be remembered during regular recall activity, you have to “trick” your brain into remembering with different tactics.
This is because there are two parts to memories - their encoding and their recall. The encoding determines their availability, their recall determines their accessibility. The reason why trauma memory and childhood amnesia are different is in this distinction. Trauma memory is often encoded differently, bypassing to the limbic system where it is stored as intrinsic memory. It can’t be recalled because it was never encoded. Childhood amnesia, however, seems to indicate that the memories are encoded, but we lose access to them as we age. This is most likely due to the development of brain structures that fundamentally change our encoding and recall of memory as we get older.
This is an important distinction, because trauma memory is “stored in the body”, i.e. you get triggers that send your body into a cascade of uncontrollable feelings, sensations and reactions. Whereas childhood memories won’t generally do that, they are just recalled at odd times with odd associations.
reblogging this because I’ve legit seen people freaking out when they realised they can’t remember some of their childhood, thinking they might have some repressed trauma.
This is legit where satanic panic began: Hack psychologists who didn’t understand how memory works put people who “shockingly couldn’t remember their entire childhood in vivid detail” in suggestive states before feeding them lines about how satanists abused and tortured and manipulated them.
That ‘comment on your a03 work’ email hits like a line of cocaine every time. unmatched dopamine increase. shoutout to everyone who leaves a comment on fics. you deserve the world

I mean, in some very interesting Technically Correct ways, they didn't actually die? Now, they're very much no longer alive. But the forces involved are such that they didn't get any of the usual cellular processes of death, they simply went from biology to physics in less time than it takes a signal to travel down your optic nerve.
if you go from biology to physics without dying first you don’t go to heaven the uber driver went over this already
What to do when your unsupportive parents start suspecting you're queer: a guide
So before we start, this advice will come from lived experience, and works best on conservative religious parental figures. But not all people are the same, and different things work on different people.
If your parents notice you have done something radical to your appearance (cut hair, grew it longer, anything not stereotypically your perceived gender, etc.) reassure them it is just "teenage rebellion". Cite some rebellious thing your parents did as teenagers, and reassure them that you'll "laugh about it" in a few years.
If your family goes to a Christian church, try to go along quietly. Those services usually don't last more than three hours and you'll keep up your appearance as "a good kid" if that is your reputation or you'll gain some favour from your parents or something along those lines. I know those services are not fun, as someone who went to them for my whole childhood, but trust me, it will keep suspiciousness off your back extremely well
I highly recommend that you do all your queer-related googles in incognito mode. And if you do art, draw something wholesome, like cats, and use that to cover any overtly queer art/physical media. And I also recommend hiding Tumblr.
If there is is extremely high suspicion of queerness, then you must use the diversion tactics. For suspected non-straight sexual orientation, have a casual conversation about your parent's marriage and how you desire a similar one or talk about the cute boy/girl down the street, but make it sound natural. That last part is important. For suspected genderqueer ness, do one stereotypical thing for your perceived gender. For example: my parents were quite surprised that I cut my hair short. (It was shoulder length actually, not even that short) So I painted my nails.
Assess risk of being kicked out. If you ever overhear your parents talking about kicking their child out of the house for coming out, then that's not good and perhaps more stealth measures should be implemented. Evaluate general attitude towards queer people. Most likely it's not going to be good, but some are like "I don't care what they do but they shouldn't do it in front other kids.", some are like "I just don't want to do their 'life style' but others are more "God made man and woman in his image. Homosexuality is a perversion against God." The latter is more likely to take extreme action against you if you are found out. (Source: have you seen those anti-pride protests?)
I hope my advice has been helpful. As always, hopefully you have someone else who is supportive, and when you move out, you'll be able to live life on your terms.
Stay safe little beings of flesh!
if you lose interest in a trans woman when you find out she has a vagina then die
we're not sex toys we're people 👍
oh noooo you can't fit her into the "tranny shemale futanari dickgirl" sexual archetype OR the "pure, Natural cis woman crafted by god" sexual archetype? you have to respect her as a person rather than as a sex object? fuuuuck that must be really hard for you I'm sorry
it's funny that both trans and cis women alike are reduced to our genitals, but with trans women it's especially extreme. transness is thought of as infinitely worse than cisness in every way, so why would you ever desire a trans woman if not to play with her one unique feature? and if she doesn't, or can't, put out, what's the point of her? what value does she even have?
it’s psychological horror to YOU. to me it’s a romcom
it's a romcom to YOU. to me it's psychological horror
you can have sex with music or abstract concepts but we still haven't found a way to have sex with people
Instead of the new dogshit Odyssey film you should watch Iphigenia (1977). It’s made by actual Greek people and focuses on a mother-daughter relationship to explore how women are sacrificed by powerful men in times of war. Also the main actress has the face of an angel 🙏 the whole movie is available on YT with English subtitles.
"You hear that? They're saying The Odyssey doesn't even have nobody!"
"They've got nobody in the Odyssey?"
"No I'm saying they don't got nobody."
"Nobody's there?"
"Nobody's not there!"
"So everyone's there?"
"Everybody but nobody!"
often you will see things online where you just have to be like "what a strange thing to say" or "i don't think that's true :)" to yourself and try to move on or you will lose your mind
