This is gonna be a pretty big ongoing project for me: 1) To share the wonderful work and story that is TGCF 2) To improve my Chinese along the way, so my TLs will have Chinese subs, as well as English 3) Contribute a lil something to the community 🦋

Truth be told, he’s programmed himself not to. When he was alive, his dreams –more often nightmares – were long and twisted things, affairs that he knew he was having but could never seem to escape from.
He's sure someone with a higher sense of morals would explain that they were an unconscious reaction to the sins he couldn't escape when awake. Vox isn't sure about that, having been prone to them almost the whole time he was living, but having so much blood on his hands probably didn't help.
As soon as he obtained the knowledge on how to upgrade his half-mechanical, half-biological body to skip that step of his sleep cycle, he gladly made it a reality.
All that being said, he doesn’t really have much control over it at the moment. He doesn’t have control over much of anything. Which is humiliating, and frustrating, and infuriating, and how the fuck could Val and Velvette just leave him like this?
Seriously, how? Sure, he’d gotten a little carried away with the whole take over Heaven thing…but surely he doesn't deserve this.
They’d left him with fucking Alastor.
Just dropped him off – monitor and body and all – and told him he could come back once he’d learned how not to be a selfish, entitled prick who ignored his friends and partners. Which, of course, means that he’s been stuck staring up at the ceiling of the Radio Demon’s room in some corner for a few days now.
In Charlie Morningstar’s tacky little Hazbin Hotel, of all places.
Vox’s own internal clock tells him that time is passing, but it sure doesn’t feel like it, without any way to see the outside world. He’s tried pinging both Val and Vel dozens of times; apologizing, begging, desperate to hear anything back. He gets nothing.
Satan, they weren't kidding.
As much as he likes to talk about not being scared of Alastor, the room that the other demon leaves him in is unabashedly creepy. Vox had only gotten one good glance around the place when he’d been tossed in, the ends of sharp claws digging into his monitor. It certainly doesn’t look like he’d expect the room of this hotel to look – half of it is an actual swamp, hot and humid, lurking in deep shadow and dripping in dark magic. The moisture level isn’t going to be great for his circuitry, he can already tell.
Leave it to Alastor to make this whole thing as unsettling as possible. Sure, when Vox had had Al in his clutches, he’d spared no expense to gloat. But at least he hadn’t chucked him in some dank fucking bog, where the sounds of crickets and frogs make him itch wondering what else lurks where he can’t see it.
And perhaps worst of all, Alastor doesn’t say a damn thing to him after the initial, sardonic, “Make yourself at home!”
Not a damn thing, though not for Vox’s lack of trying. Every time he thinks he can hear Al moving around in here – thinks being the key word here, because without the rest of his body and how weak he is, his hearing’s not what it could be – he tries to get a response, but the most it’s gotten him in return is a sharp hiss from Alastor’s shadow.
He had no clue that Al could even stay quiet for this long. Vox thought that surely he'd take the time to rub this massive loss in his face by now – brag, gloat, anything but let him sit here in his own thoughts. That in itself is beginning to feel like its own form of torture.
Vox is starting to think he’s going to spend the rest of his un-life like this. Slowly running out of battery, staring at the rest of his body from the corner of his screen until he’s forced into power saver mode. Fucking humiliating. Especially when his body is right there, sprawled in an armchair far beyond his reach.
After almost two days of the monotony, Vox can’t stand it anymore. He shuts down into sleep mode, hoping that by the time he boots back up, one of the other Vees will have taken pity on him. Or Alastor will have gotten bored and eaten him. Stripped him down to just wires and circuits. Something. He just can’t take any more waiting around.
His sleep mode cycle is set to last eight hours…typically. But he’s also not supposed to dream, either. There’s no telling how many of his carefully programmed systems got shot to hell when Val ripped his monitor off, but judging from all of the warnings that’ve popped up on his screen since then, it’s a lot.
So Vox isn’t necessarily surprised when he finds himself dropped right back into a familiar scene, back before dreaming was cut out of his systems entirely.
He’s back at that old bar, and he’s not alone. Of course he’s not – he and Alastor always came here together for a drink or two after business. They’d done it for years, made it a damn habit. After a while, one or the other simply stopped asking if they were coming here. It became a standing invitation; more unusual to not meet the other.
They're seated in the usual corner, cigarette smoke and the hum of some long forgotten jazz number swirling up around them. This sort of reminiscing always makes Vox feel old, but it really did feel like it all happened not so long ago…and not over half a century past.
And what is he, fucking Ebenezer Scrooge, made to watch his younger self goggle at Alastor with a dopey grin he can't even hide? Mortifying.
When he gets ahold of his body again, he's doing a deep dive into his memory processors to make sure he never has this dream again. Ever.
Vox knows it’s that day, that dream, because of the way his younger self keeps having to brush the static shock of nervousness off of his arms. From the way he sees himself sipping whiskey too fast, hoping that it’ll relax him. Shit, he still remembers going over and over what he wanted to say in his own head until the words felt meaningless.
Seeing how damn young and naive he was never fails to make him cringe. The way he dressed, the way he talked, acted – everything. (Particularly the outdated hardware. He knows it was a different era, but still.)
Yet here in the past, Alastor still looks at him with tolerance, fondness – or at least something that isn’t disdain. Vox always thought that he’d known how to read Alastor better than anyone else; knew more of his secrets, his tells. Maybe Vox had just hoped he was fond. Maybe he'd been projecting his own feelings onto…whatever was going on between them.
That had to be it. Everything had been in Vox’s head.
Every lingering look over a drink. Every shared cigarette, the imagined taste of Alastor’s mouth. An occasional brush of their hands or knees below the bar top. Accidental on Alastor's part, surely, but shy and purposeful on Vox's. The other demon’s attention, his eyes on him and the thrill it sent through Vox to be considered worthy of it.
Only to have it all snatched away. His only friend in Hell laughing in his fucking face.
This dream – nightmare – always takes the memory one step further.
Not only does he get an inescapable front row seat to one of the worst days of his un-life, but the Dream Alastor digs even further into his insecurities, sinks his claws into them. And after having his ego fucking crushed, Vox isn't exactly in the mood to have this fun little twist added on.
“Wake up, idiot, come on,” Vox mutters, stepping forward to shake his younger self's shoulder. “Get me outta here.”
It never works, but that doesn't stop him from trying. Dream Vox is still staring at Al like he's the only thing he can look at. Struck dumb by the rejection like he'd never believe it could happen.
Because at the time, he couldn't. There was no scenario in his mind where Alastor would turn him down – not like that. Not practically ripping his heart out, wires and all.
Vox wasn't blind to Al's personality, his true nature. You have to be ruthless in Hell, especially to get to the top. He'd just thought, hoped, that he'd be softer with him, after all that time. Earned himself some lenience, maybe.
Because fuck it, they were friends. Alastor could lie to himself all he wanted – reject Vox all he wanted – but he couldn't take that away. Even if he'd made Vox doubt everything, at the time. Even if this day fucked him up for years, decades.
At the moment, Vox is bracing for the nightmare specific portion of Alastor's tirade to begin. For him to start going on about how he knows all about Vox's pathetic little crush, and how he can see right through him, how his proposition to be business partners would inevitably lead to more, and how could Al ever want him that way, and –
He's jolted awake.
Specifically by a set of claws, tapping at the center of his screen.
The taps seem to reach him in half time, like they're coming from underwater; but Vox soon realizes that his processors are lagging as he powers back up. Not a good sign. He's been disconnected for too long, longer than he's ever actually cared to test. All the warnings he's been ignoring (along with a few new ones) pop back up into his field of vision before he blinks them away. When they're gone, all that's left is –
“Alastor,” Vox grits out. “To what do I owe the pleasure?”

And I love the human AU, the fact that they could have easily known each other if Alastor didn’t die (got me a really good fic about this btw)
So yeah this is kind of my interpretation of them being crazy husbands :)
(Also also wanted to add, I also find radioapple pretty interesting but since the show didn’t give me much to work on for now radiostatic takes the cake I’M SURE RADIOAPPLE WILL REDEEM ITSELF NEXT SEASON)
Au where nobody tells 10 year old Damian who Jason is. And the way they talk about him, Damian just assumes Jason is like a raccoon or something.
Damian: Grayson, why does Pennyworth leave food on the counter every night?
Dick, on his phone, not even paying attention: Oh, that's for Jason.
Damian: For 'Jason'?
Dick: Yeah. Sometimes he sneaks into the kitchen at night, so Alfred started leaving food out for him.
Damian, confused: I've never seen anyone here.
Dick: Well he doesn't always come. And last time, Bruce caught him crawling through the window and scared him away so, who knows when he'll show up again.
Damian, definitely thinking of a raccoon: So then Pennyworth is feeding a random stray that crawled out of God knows where?
Dick, annoyed: He's not a 'random stray', Damian, he's family, and he has been living in this house for way longer than you have.
Damian, trying to remember how long do raccoons live for:
Damian: I hope he doesn't die soon.
Dick: ????!!
*Later that night in the Bat-cave*
Tim, typing away in the computer:
Damian: Drake. Have you ever met Jason?
Tim: Uh. Stupid, annoying and looks like a skunk? Yes, why?
Damian, picturing a mix between a racoon and a skunk:
Damian: Is he friendly?
Tim: Well, the first time I met him, he attacked me, so...
Damian: Hmm... What did you do to provoke him?
Tim: What did I do to– Bitch–
Tim: Nothing! He just didn't like me taking 'what was his', or something.
Damian, nodding: You invaded his territory.
*The next day*
Damian: Father, when do you think Jason will visit again? I want to meet him.
Bruce: Um. I don't know, Damian. He doesn't come here often.
Damian: Why?
Bruce: Because he lives somewhere else.
Damian: Why doesn't he just live here with us instead? He would be safer.
Bruce, wincing: I don't think he would like that, Damian. He's not confortable here.
Damian: But, maybe if I befriend him I could convince him to stay.
Bruce, sighing: I don't think so, Damian. You have to respect his space.
