The Bat Collector

This was a sample I created as part of a pitch for the New York Lottery. The brief was: A New York gentleman spent $3.5 million on a dead bat for his dead bat collection. In the end, the agency and the client went with a very different approach for the campaign. I still like my grandpa vampire bat collector though.

The other week Annica from Dirty Bandits gave me a call asking if I could help her paint 250 phrases on 250 bathroom scales for an event at Grand Central Station put on by Lean Cuisine.  It sounded like a good excuse to get a little more practice with a brush so I accepted the challenge and gave my buddy Kurt from Very Fine Signs a call to help us make it happen. I then called my friends at Livestream Public to see if they could help us out with a decent sized space to work out of for a few days where we could also safely store TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY fucking bathroom scales. Everything worked out and we got the job done! Also, I think I should note that Annica single-handedly designed all 250 of these things! I just painted… Good times!
