[text] Morning, sunshine! [QB]
[text] Go away. I was up all night with your son, who pooped on me once, spit up on me twice, and cooed at me for four hours before going back to sleep. The only good morning I will have is if you let me sleep until 1:00 and bring me a triple shot grande mocha with extra strong coffee.

Jacknix!
Name: Aurora McKenzie-King
Gender: Female
General Appearance: She has brunette hair, blue eyes, fair skin and gets a freckles if she’s out in the sun, and short for her age, no matter what age she’ll be.
Personality: Has an innocent quality to her, but might not be as innocent as her parents think. However, she’s not necessarily rebellious, or a troublemaker. She feels as if there’s moments in which rules need to be broken. And if it’s a moment in which she’s breaking rules to “have fun”, she tries to be as responsible as possible and got go overboard. Has a light sense of humor, but can be sarcastic and witty. Naturally, optimistic and tries to find positive attributes in moments where it can rough, because even when she’s down, she’d rather try to be positive than negative. Outspoken and stands up for what she thinks it’s right.
Special Talents: An amazing chef, like her parents and actress.
Who they like better: She doesn’t play favorites.
Who they take after more: While she physically takes after Jackson since technically, he is her biological father, she has a lot of Phoenix’s personality traits, but Jackson as well.
Personal Head canon: Due to the fact that Aurora can honestly pass for Jackson’s, or Phoenix’s child and the fact that to her, both Jackson and Phoenix are her real parents no matter what. Aurora never tells anyone who her biological father is when someone asks her “Who’s your real father?” It doesn’t matter to her biologically who she is related to. They both are her parents. So, she either tells people both of them are and if they ask again, she says, “Guess who?” Which often leaves people puzzled.

Hevans
Name: Spencer (Spence) and Bianca (BB, or B)
Gender: Spencer (Male) and Bianca (Female)
General Appearance: Spencer has blond hair and green eyes, but darkens as he gets older. Bianca has brunette hair, light blond highlights and glasz eyes. Both Spencer and Bianca has a light complexion, but Spencer can tan, but Bianca cannot. As they get older, Spencer will be average height for a man and Bianca will be a little above average height for a woman.
Personality: As babies and children, both are sweet and relatively behaved, but like all children have their moments of rebellion (for example, Spencer tries to move, roll over, and pick up his used diaper when being changed. When Bianca can walk, she’ll start trying to run away from her parents during bath time). As they get older, both children will have Kurt’s sass and sarcastic sense of humor. Both have Sam’s passion for comic book heroes and desire to always make the right moral choices. However, with being in the world of having two famous rich parents, both children can be demanding and expect to get anything they want, but are humble about themselves as individuals.
Special Talents: Spencer and Bianca both are singers. Spencer is an artist on paper, but Bianca is an artist when it comes to guitar and piano. Both highly intelligent in their own ways. With Bianca it’s logical and numerical, while Spencer is a visual thinker and trivial.
Who they like better: Ah, if I have to pick one? Sorry, Kurt, but Sam is the favorite. (◡‿◕)
Who they take after more: Both parents equally, in their own different ways.
Personal Head canon: This whole thing, because Liz and I already created them in our rp. But I guess I’ll come up with another one… I see them being so close that they always share their room up until they turn into teenagers. In my mind, they always shared a room since babies and since they were always in the same room since they were little and having such a massive room (I would imagine), I do not think the two would have the thought of having different rooms. That is until puberty and emotions strike, and Sam suggestions that they might need their own space and privacy. Which they agree. I also have this head canon that both Spencer and Bianca do not like storms (even when they’re teenagers) and when there’s a horribly bad storm, they meet each other in the living room to watch movies until they pass out on the sofa. So, bam! Two head canons!

Keeping Characters In-Character
The best way to keep you characters in character is to 1. understand people and 2. develop your character as much as possible.
Understanding People Complexly
If you’re a writer, then most likely you’re a reader, which means that most likely you have a pretty good grasp of basic psychology and you’re capable of empathizing with people. Studies have show that people who read regularly, especially people who read novels, are much more likely to be able to empathize and “understand” people. So, if you struggle with either of those things, I suggest you read a lot more fiction.
Read
Reading and actively analyzing characters (especially doing this alongside a group of people who are also analyzing these characters) will not only have you thinking deeply and complexly about fictional characters, but real people as well. When you have a well-rounded understanding of people as a whole, you’ll naturally be more creative when it comes to making characters. Their many dimensions will appear organically.
Listen
This will do the same thing for you that reading will, but so an even further extent. Non-fictional people are often a lot more complicated than characters are—at least they often make less sense. They are less controlled, more surprising, and their minds work differently than yours. Listening, watching, analyzing, and attempting to understand real people will work wonders for your creation and understanding of your own characters.
Know the Basic Components of All People (And Characters)
Motivations, desires, needs, logic, personality, tendencies, perceptions, expectations, etc. All of these things alter how the person thinks and acts, and they all affect each other. They work together, and sometimes they clash, and it’s important that you are aware that all of these things are at play all at once. All the time.
Developing Your Character
To keep your character consistent, you need to have a full understanding of them. Once you do have a full understanding of them, they will naturally be consistent. You won’t have to think about it. You’ll know how they would react to a certain situation before you even know why.
Don’t Worry About Taking Yourself Out of the Equation
It won’t work, anyway. You’re a huge part of the equation. Hell, you are the equation.
Some people have a problem where their mood affects what they write. When they’re sad, their characters or story is sad. When they’re happy, same thing. Often people begin to try to separate themselves from the story to fix this problem. But that doesn’t make sense because this is your story, and it needs you for it to be good.
Instead, simply be aware. Be aware of where your real life is interacting with your story life. Feel it out, understand it, and you will be able to control it. Often your subconscious is just trying to get you to process all the issues you’re dealing with in your life, and not only will writing them into and through your story help you come to terms with them, it will add layers upon layers to the story, especially your characters. Embrace it, and watch where it takes you.
Be Aware of Stereotypes and Expectations
Often—this is especially with beginning writers, who are often the ones struggling with consistent characters—the reason characters become inconsistent is because the writer is allowing stereotypes or expectations of how this type of character should act invade the actual character. This leads to the limitation of the character and erratic, random behavior. Be aware of what you and your reader would expect from a character in this situation, and remind yourself that that isn’t how the character actually has to react. They should react how their character development dictates.
