Guess who doesn't exist?

So my bank kindly unburdened themselves by closing my accounts after not receiving identity paperwork they claimed they didn't need - I called after a scary letter they told me to disregard then they closed my accounts for not responding to the letter 🤡

On top of that, I'm still in the process of getting all my identity documents. I have been able to do some over the last I guess year, like my tax stuff, birth cert and a proof of age card, but I haven't renewed my driver's/learners because that requires sitting a test

But! Opening a new bank account requires a driver's or a passport. Australia has the most expensive passports in the world! Several hundred dollars! The drivers would be much cheaper

Chris has also been impacted because he's with the same idiot bank, except he just ignored the letter and lost access (not that following up helped me anyway so perhaps it wouldn't have made a difference)

So because of all this, his pay in 4s on the PayPal have bounced and he's got a negative PayPal balance of some $700. That sucks because PayPal is the only money app either of us has access to until we get our new bank accounts

So TLDR I am working very hard to get my life together for me and my kids as you all know (that's why I'm online less) and I'm waiting to hear on my apprenticeship application but we could really use some help to get over this bump. The amazing help we received last year has gotten us through til now but I need an income now and this happened at the worst possible time

So I'm just trying to fix the negative balance on the PayPal and bring it back to zero so we can use it again

PayPal has been adjusting the amounts (i guess because of pay in 4s?) so assuming they don't re-calculate again we actually don't need as much as we thought and we're really close to getting out of negatives after all ❤️

For a group of people constantly putting on events and assigning themselves homework trots are always terrible at actually organising shit. Why did I just go to a public speaking event with a venue on the other side of town with no public transport, not enough seats, no overflow plans (eg no speakers outside so people who couldn't get in could hear) and no accessible entrances/exists (eg all of them having stairs)? Truly ridiculous and it's always like this

when i was 8 i had a very intimidating russian woman as a music teacher- she was both my opera instructor and piano teacher. about a month into piano, she sat me down and said to my mother and i "this child- very beautiful voice, good for singing. i will not allow this child to continue piano. god did not want this child to play an instrument. he told me this in dreams. that is all."

my mom had it written down on a slip so we could remember the exact words because it was so funny. i HATED playing piano and i was definitely not good at it (i did end up having a good 5 years of opera training and ended up being a pretty accomplished choir singer though) and the idea of god sending my incredibly severe and serious russian piano teacher a dream begging her to stop teaching me piano was probably the funniest way it could have gone.
