This was my thesis in college as an art student. A mock up album cover for the band Flattbush.

Mga album covers ay isa sa mga malaking inspiration ko sa visual arts. Kaya i decided to make it as a thesis. Naexcite ako nung naapprove yun idea na ito ang iprepresent ko. As major in advertising, di lang simpleng album cover ang gagawing ko kundi branding sa isang banda. Madami ng ideas kaso siguro nasa 75%-80% ang naachieve ko sa plinaplano ko kasi naging struggle ang period habang ginagawa ito dahil ito rin yun period na nagdadalamhati ako sa pagkawala ng aking father kaya mejo wala sa mood and focus to execute the plan, anyway naging masaya naman din ako sa outcome.

Flattbush is a grindcore band based in bellflower california. Mga dugong pinoy, Yung theme nila ay progressive , political, a protest against the existing socioeconomic system. I first heard them when i was a psychology student pa sa sintang paaralan, PUP. A long time friend sa uni ang nagintroduce sakin sakanilang music. Napili ko sila, well since they are UG bandm though may sarili na silang “visual branding”, may navivisualize ako na pwede ko pa gawan ng “mock identity”.

Just like eddie the head (iron maiden) and vic rattlehead (megadeth), gumawa ako ng kanilang “mascot”, i called him “guerrero”, dressed as manggagawang bukid na corpse ready to take revenge and fight the norms! :)
