Tides of Remembrance [Yuri&Gongchan]
Bitter winds whipped outside while a bitter heart thumped inside Gong Chanshiks chest, pounding steadily from the exercise of swim practice. Today, again, heâd thrown himself completely into the heavy physical activity to try and forget all that had happened, all that he had lost, some quite recently. Now, shivering slightly as he stepped into the hallway from the boys, drafty, locker room, the swimmer made as if to vacate the premises, only to freeze mid-step, a foot still elevated, at the sight of an all too familiar back.
The boy blinked and blinked again, hands rising to rub at incredulous coffee toned orbs in disbelief. No, it couldnât be, could it? Was he really to have lost someone so recently and regained someone else? That was definitely her, he could recognize that form from amidst a hundred other bodies tightly pressed together in a crowd if need be and yet, there she was, walking slightly ahead of him, all alone.Â
It didnât occur to him to duck back or hide, though, considering some of the side effects of their relationship, it should have. Running forward, joy etched on his handsome face and voice bubbling with laughter, Chanshik cried out, ânoona!â Like the irrepressible scamp he was, the brunette thrust his arms around her from behind. âHey, hey did you miss me? Is that why youâre here?â Not even his pride could keep the outsiderâs voice from holding a somewhat hopeful tone.
Swimming meant a lot to Kwon Yuri. If she had not been forced to do business, she would have been a professional swimmer, doing laps and doing what she had loved the most. She felt most free in the water, and to be separated from it made her despondent.
Bullworth had provided her an opportunity to swim, well away from the watching eyes of her parents, the stern gaze of her father.
Today's swim meet venue was filled with a lot of athletes ranging from novices to professional. Yuri was about to head to the lockers to change into her swimsuit when a voice called out to her, making the girl turn her head. Before she knew it, he was already hugging her.
"Oh, hey Chanshik," she smiled, "how have you been doing? Of course I did! But sadly, I didn't come here for you. I'm swimming today,"
