Shadow blinks as the prototype slumps in the bench. āProtomanā¦?ā He reaches out a hand, only to draw it away just as fast. He was burning up.
He quickly scanned the park, looking to see if anyone had noticed Blues fall to the ground. Nothing. It seemed that everyone was still minding their business.
[DWN-024 > DLN-000] Blues. Are you currently busy.
[DLN-000 > DWN-024] Nah, not really. Just finished some maintenance.
[DLN-000 > DWN-024] Whatās up?
The ninja quickly scooped the still far too warm prototype into his arms, giving the park one last lookāstill no oneābefore teleporting away in a flash of indigo. He reappears shortly after in what looks to be an abandoned warehouse.
[DWN-024 > DLN-000] Are you aware of your alternates.
The network is quiet for a long moment, and Shadow can feel the exasperation in the Firstās next reply.
[DLN-000 > DLN-024] ⦠What did you do.
Shadow doesnāt dignify his Blues with a response, instead sending over a set of coordinates. He sets the alternate in his arms down on the ground, undoing the trench coatāand oh fuck heās steamingāto try get some airflow to the prototypeās core.
The Ninja was in the process of undoing the first few buttons of Bluesās vest when he hears the familiar āBWOOPā of someone teleporting in. He turned, seeing his own Protoman approaching at a rapid pace. The second First stops just short of the alternate, and stares.
ā⦠You've got to be fucking kidding me."
"Youā" Thereās unintelligible mumbling that Shadow canāt quite make out. āJust⦠you opened his coat, yeah?" Blues sighs. "Just... go stand behind some crates or something. Iāll keep an eye on him till he wakes upā
āIām not going toā"
āThe last thing heās going to want to see is the person who caused him to go online,ā Blues cut in. āYou donāt have to leave, but he canāt see you when he wakes up.ā
The two of them stare at each other for a long time. Shadow narrows his eye. Blues crosses his arms. Ultimately, the ninja grunts, melting into the shadows and slinking away to some corner of the room.
Once he was certain Shadow had actually listened, Blues sighed. Now they just had to wait, he supposed.
