Let’s just be honest. Daisy Ridley was cute as a button in the film, the plucky heroine, but what made ALL of us watch this trilogy was Adam-Fucking-Look-At-My-Strking-Features-And-Brick-Shithouse-Body-With-My-Soulful-Eyes-And-Magic-Passion-Driver.  The level of acting on his part is the ONLY damn reason I have watched these films more than once. Imagine someone like Brad Pitt or Ryan Reynolds in this part. Bleh. Only Adam was capable enough to bring those Shakespearean acting chops to elevate his part from a cartoon Vader-clone to the level of a Greek tragedy. If not for Adam, Disney would have lost their asses on these films. Period. Then they burn their cash cow. *sigh*. Men.

I do distinctly remember the dull annoyance through the first half of TFA that there’s gonna be 3 movies worth of these plucky new kids running around in a frenzy with vaguely comedic banter and lots of yelling. But Kylo Ren prayed to his grandfather, beheld Rey in the woods and desired her for his own, took off his helmet…

I miss Rian Johnson's thoughtfulness

I miss TLJ Rey

I miss having quiet moments

I miss having a movie that knew what it was doing and had purpose

I miss when the movie was about the characters

looking at all of these TRoS gifs, my heart is full at the thought of how very gentle and sweet Ben would be with Rey.

he’d be a heavy sleeper compared to her (you couldn’t afford to be unaware of your surroundings for too long on Jakku) and their mornings would be full of him snuggling closer, big arm around her waist, mumbling, “just five more minutes…” against her hair.

he’d cook for her, letting her taste flavours beyond her wildest dreams, and he’d take her to beaches and forests and markets to buy her every silly little trinket that caught her eye.

he’d braid her hair in the old Alderaanian fashion, weaving little messages (beautiful, brave, I love you) into each plait. he’d write her love notes as soon as he rediscovered calligraphy.

whenever she had nightmares (because she undoubtedly would, after what they both went through), he’d pull her close and let her rest her head on his chest so that she could hear his heartbeat. even after she brought him back from the dead, she’d still take comfort in the sound of it–undeniable proof that Ben is alive, Ben came home for her, Ben loves her.

i saw one of the gifs from when bens picking up rey & i realised he was stroaking her fucking hand/ fingers, i dunno why but that just seems so beautiful sweet & forward considering when they touched hands the first time around they both were basically in tears. i love them
