Will you choose to walk, or stay?
The voice penetrates her mind in search of an answer. A wall of confusion erected as a barrier in defense to this. It is a question that she’s been asking herself for months now. One that she cannot say truly has an answer to it. The notion of walking or staying at face value is a simple choice. When she is set to tackle these things individually with all her problems, it becomes so much more.
Already can she feel the panic curling itself around her arm. Her robotic limb moving on instinct to grip the wrist of her still human flesh.
「Stay calm. Stay calm. Stay calm.
The mantra repeated till she is sure the shakes have passed. A small exhale the only thing she gives in reply to this being who remained hidden. She can give nothing more. In a way she is taking the same stance this being originally did by remaining silent. Yet in her case it is better for her to merely watch rather than act. If there was anything her past has taught her it is that her boldness is her downfall. The history of her family a sure fire sign that blind devotion would only end with a broken heart.
So with that in mind Yang will move forward. Regardless of where she decides to align herself she still has her own personal goals. She needs to know where she is, where those she loves are. Standing around in a cave will give her none of these answer. She already spent her time hiding away from the world.
“Umm,” she pauses, standing in the entrance to the cave with her beach umbrella in one hand dragging behind her and her head tilted to the side. “I didn’t know this cave was already occupied?”
It seems like this island won’t even give Yang the time to fully collect herself before throwing another lost soul at her.
Without much hesitation, the fox begins to walk into the cave. It’s a miracle she’d even found this spot with the endless fog outside — even the presence of another being wasn’t going to stop her from taking respite from the weather. She sets her umbrella down against one wall of the cave, and then focuses all her attention on the blonde she’s found herself with.
“You heard that egomaniac too?” She tosses casually. This isn’t the first time she’s met another on this island, perhaps why she’s so blazé about their situation, yet she’s not so unguarded that she doesn’t give the other female a sufficient berth. “I can’t believe we’re stuck here with nothing around. And I mean nothing — no pools, no cabana boys, nothing.” She tacks on an exasperated sigh at the end before taking a seat on a smooth stone facing the blonde girl.
“You have a name?” She crosses one leg over the other. “I’m Ta— Caster.” Even though she knows now this is no Grail War, some habits are good to keep. Just in case.
