"So, you mean I'm not done yet?"
Emily practically growls at the unfortunate who’d been assigned to tell her where to go all day. Her mood had started off on a high - it was her first day in the Genesis initiation process, her first time to properly get a look around the base and get to know the place she’d been training to work for most of her life. But what had she spent all day doing? Nothing but boring, trivial, administration tasks which the pathetic excuse for a Genesis member set her in order to check her into the computer system. From the physical tests she passed in the bat of an eyelid (Who even needed to use press ups? What was she going to do, press up an S Gene to death?) to the seemingly never-ending pile of paperwork she was expected to complete, it seemed like this day would never draw to a close. She’d been an idiot for thinking she’d get some real work to do today, and just plain naive for thinking maybe it would be an interesting start to her new life. By now it was almost 6pm, she was hungry, and the fiery temper she’d been instructed to keep under control was threatening to flare. Yet, she wasn’t quite at the edge for now; so, she snatches the sheet of paper with directions from the dimwit’s hands rather than refuse and storm home like she truly wishes to. Instead, she strides off without him in her own form of rebellion, grumbling to herself until she reaches the room she’d been instructed to enter. She gives the sheet another glare, before making her way inside, not bothering to look around before she begins ranting. “Please, for the love of God, do not tell me this is another stack of paperwork for me to sign. I swear my hands will fall off if I have to touch a biro again any time in the next twenty four hours. Jesus, just give me something interesting.”
“Jesus?” He was quick to respond, quick to whip around from his chair and leave it – like a shark finally getting a whiff of blood after miles of absolute nothing. “Jesus is dead.” He continued, stepping towards the railing to look down at the girl from his stand on the elevated platform. What a pretty little relief. His sudden revival had startled those in the room with him. The typing on keyboards broke as soon as his own rather alarming silence did in order to pay some attention to the new voice, but quickly started back again to keep the man’s attention on the girl and away from them. In other words, they too were pretty fucking grateful for the unfortunate who just caught Kyle Brancheu’s attention.
“Are you new, Gingersnaps?” He questioned. Of course she was, though. A face like that, so young and sweet looking. A face like that; he’d remember. What’s a face like that doing here anyway? “Could you possibly be our new recruit?” There was a hollow chuckle in his throat. “Knight certainly has a liking for petites, doesn’t he?” Kyle really could not blame him, though. The young ones were delicious fruits – fresh, ripe, and ready to be eaten up. But, Kyle did not sign up for a damn daycare. Going on the job with a bunch of babes will definitely turn into a bloodbath for both S-Gene and Genesis, and Kyle will make sure he is the last one standing. A frown was visible on the older man’s face. A sign of disapproval before an annoyed expression took over when the girl’s supposed mentor followed in. He too was new; only months old with nothing but a record of mistakes. Butterfingers. Loyal, but incompetent. Pathetic. There really was no tolerance for such a waste of resources. Knight had his time to do something about it and he didn’t. – Now its Kyle’s turn.
Through the whole time that the girl and her mentor engaged in a heated disagreement about who was in charge of who and who was so fucking bored of being in charged of, Kyle had left his stand against the railing on the elevated platform -- quietly headed down the spiral staircase – casually walked up to the Butterfingers, and, snapped his neck. Strong hands released the now silent body and let it drop limp on the cold floor. The whole room became alarmed again. The sounds of fingers on keyboards ended immediately, causing them all to be swallowed up by eerie silence. – Except for Kyle. Kyle clapped his hands together as if he was brushing off dust before peeling the paperwork out of the girl’s hands and tossed it away after crumbling it. “Hello, I’m Jesus. I’m going to give you something interesting.”
