January
Started whattobuytoday.com a blog and Instagram selection of cool products found on Amazon. Continues to function, here and there, as a design, affiliate marketing and copywriting experiment.
February
Began working with Road Runner Bags, helping them with e-commerce strategy, media buying, and Adwords solutions. Also, rode a ton of bikes and made some incredible friends!
March
Ran the LA Marathon. Completed in 4:45 hours. Broke 8 minute mile stride at mile 16 (Beverly Hills) and ran/walked to finish. More complete breakdown on Strava.
Biked from Los Angeles to Mexico! My friend Andrew and I left Koreatown on March 28th and we’re crossing the San Ysidro border into Tijuana on the 30th. After a wild night in TJ, we were on our bikes down to Rosarito and then to Ensenada where we camped on the beach.
April
Began working with Garden of Sound and CPG Hollywood. Email design and campaign management.
May
Made UneditedProject.com for Nunzio, a life coach and personal trainer. Helped him with brand/social strategy and email marketing.
June
Turned 25. Partied on my brother’s Rooftop in Downtown Los Angeles with all of my best friends. Paul brought his turntables from San Luis Obispo and played one hell of a set.
Bikepacked through Oregon with some fantastic people.
July
Arrived home from Oregon and grew some tomatoes and rode bikes.
August
Built website for Brian Holtzman. A very hilarious regular, and now friend at the Comedy Store.
September
Began working with Aquagear. Content creation, media buys, strategy and website redesign.
Spent two weeks with my family in Chicago. Rode my bike all over that gorgeous town.
Took the Amtrak from Chicago to NYC. Stayed in New York for 1.5 weeks. Highlights: bridges, pizza, ferries, Queens, corner-store breakfast sandwiches, Empire State building, Joanna, Marco.
October
Enjoyed unusually warm weather in Los Angeles. Rode bikes.
November
Traveled to Mexico. One week in DF and then to Oaxaca. Practiced Spanish, met new friends, ate ttlayudas, tamales Oaxaqueños, not enough quesillo and got my phone stolen. People: Yula, Dustin, Amarita, Vale, Gilda, Mike, Vera, Memo.
December
Valentina, a friend I met in Oaxaca, visited me in Los Angeles. We explored the city, Joshua Tree and road tripped to Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo.
Rode my bike from Walnut, Ca to Big Bear Lake. 2 days, nearly 100 miles and 6,000 feet of climbing. Got stuck on a fire road just 5 miles outside of my destination and was picked up by the Forest service.
