Many of these comments prove that most of you know nothing about this period! Women have no real RIGHTS! You’re right she will be his property and thus subject to whatever treatment he sees fit for her (See the Rule of thumb). Then again maybe she doesn’t care how he’ll treat her daughter as long as she is titled Duchess.
