The voice startled Hux out of his reverie and he jostled Millie, who chirped loudly. Hux drew up short to stare at the stranger addressing him from the doorway across the hall. He wasn’t used to strange men confronting him in front of his apartment. Particularly not strange, attractive men. 

Undeterred by Hux’s stare, the stranger continued. “Why do you have my cousin’s cat? Was she in your apartment? I’ve been looking everywhere for her.”

“Pardon?”

“The cat,” said the stranger, indicating Millicent. “Bee-Bee. I’m watching her while my cousin is out of town.”

Hux frowned at him. “This is my cat.”
