for starters i use my ipad to edit because i havebad habits and am too stubborn to edit on my computer bc im a lazy piece of shit but if u can use a computer for the love of god use it. Only use any of these following apps if u are broke as shit and only have access to an ipad

VN:

i use this mostly for slimycracker videos (real fans know💎). benefits are its simplicity and presets. good for long videos that use repetitive assets or transitions or sound effects (aka youtube style content). can be used for very very simple tweening animations due to small layer limit. this is what i used for my naporitan video. Free but limited to 100 projects

WEILO:

ive used this very sparingly because its a very powerful program but has many many faults. its functionality is kind of a mix of toonsquid and VN because it can handle both animations (would not recommend) and youtube style content. infinite layers and layer grouping and detailed keyframing and presets and effects but it runs slow as FUCKKKKKK. its good for an ipad app tho and works like a beefed up VN. i used this to edit robooty’s XHS QnA video and robooty used it for my birthday gift in 2024. Free but one ☝️ export a day (bruh)

Toonsquid:

highly recommend for animations. learning curve kinda sucks but once u get used to it this is it for 2d ipad animation. There’s not really presets and you have to do all of the work yourself, but if you’re looking for absolute control and also use a fuckton of layers and groups like i do this is great. I used this for Robooty’s happy itager birthday video. it does require high skill to use but if u know how then ur chill. Costs $12 but is a one time purchase 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤

all in all though you should only use these if ur confined to the ipad. The computer is superior. If you have any questions about specific methods or effects shoot me a dm. U can also ask for links to the videos i mentioned
