Mother's Day Weirdness

Is it just me or do the things in stores for Mothers Day seem strange? It looks more like Valentine's Day merchandise. I would never want to buy my mom teddy bears made with faux roses. Chocolate dipped berries in heart shaped containers, seems like a romance thing to me. All the flowers and rose bouquets look more like Valentine bouquets than flowers for mom. Maybe some men are buying gifts for the mothers of their children, I get that. But, wouldn't you take the child/children to pick it out. Or if the child isn't old enough would you really want to get the romantic looking things. It just seems a little weird to me.
