@kyth0t
will you do a Florida guide at some point, please?
Let’s talk about Florida.
I’ve only been to Florida for vacationing, golfing, and for the weddings that I’ve been a guest at within the last few years. I’m sort of informed on the ins and outs of Miami and the major cities but I know a lot more about yachting around the Florida Keys, Palm Beach, and the ins and outs of the private clubs and the places where the upper upper class tend to hide out in the Sunshine State. I love the parts of Florida I’ve seen so far and I’m excited to go back this summer for another golfing trip and the wedding of a good friend of mine. I’m going to stick to Miami for now and feel free to ask for different cities and answer for the ones I’ve been to.
The Ocean Reef Club.
One of my favourite clubs in Key Largo and one of my favourite clubs in Florida, the Ocean Reef has always had what I’ve been looking for in terms of both men and amenities. The O.R.C. is hard to get into without connections but it’s one of the nicest clubs in the continental United States, there’s a private marina and a landing strip, you can rent road cars to drive around, and it remains one of the best places for meeting a lot of people of very high quality and slowly beginning to grow your circles and meet the people who have the IT life. Whenever I’ve gone on yacht trips in Florida, I have always left from the O.R.C. and the atmosphere is high class and gorgeous, there’s a certain type of tranquility
The Bath Club.
One of the oldest private membership clubs in Miami and one of the absolute best places I’ve ever been in terms of meeting men and getting things done. The Bath is the best place for relationships and meeting men who want a relationship and want the chance to meet women, I wouldn’t recommend it for trying to freestyle or start anything fast. I’ve met several really wonderful men at Bath, I’ve started one of my best relationships that continues to this day from a chance encounter at Bath, and the atmosphere at Bath is more than impeccable, everyone has their lives put together and they want to meet people who are on their way or already there. I’d recommend Bath if you can get in or meet someone who has a membership and is willing to take you just to show you the options that are out there
Soho Beach House.
No matter how much of a tenuous relationship I have with Soho, I can’t really deny that Soho Miami is one of the best little private spots for girls who are starting out and who want an easier and much more laid back environment without the pressure to try to succeed or speak to people who they feel like they’re not confident enough or experienced enough to speak to. I like The Beach House but I don’t like that there are so many IG models and athletes, it kind of ruins the vibe and it can start to feel a little bit crowded after a while. If you go to the Beach House during daylight hours or for lunch, there’s the younger finance crowd and they tend to be very easy to talk to and and are fond of taking the time to try to talk to you, no matter what you’re trying to do.
Casa Tua Miami.
Casa Tua is a private club, a beautiful restaurant, and a boutique hotel and I try to stay here as often as I can. Casa Tua is the place to find wealthy financiers, it’s one of the best places in Miami to go to be approached by men and meet men who are just a little bit more into the idea of being with someone who wants to be with them. One of my really good friends met a man at CT who takes care of her and calls her his stay at home GF. He’s got her set up with the $3,500 weekly and she’s set up in his home, they’re in a relationship, and he’s always talking about how Casa Tua is the best place to meet a woman who wants to experience the good life.
The Betsy.
My love for the rooftop deck and restaurant at the Betsy will never die and the Betsy is another one of the best places in South Beach to meet someone who’s a little bit less established but still knows what he’s up to. I’ve been on a lot of nights out with the girls and we’ve ended up at the Betsy so many times and there’s always been a group of down bad investment bankers who want to pay for us and get to know us without ever really getting anything back from us and we’ve never left with our wallets any lighter than when we walked in. I like the Betsy because it’s not super exclusive but it’s still upper class and the seafood restaurant is just beyond amazing. I’d consider it a place for women who are confident in their abilities to speak to men or who want to go out with a group and end up talking away.
Lapis Spa at Fontainebleau.
Whenever I’m in Miami, I tend to need to take a little bit of time to myself to decompress and let the effect of the city leave my body. I never go on any trip without having at least one spa appointment booked because I need to take care of myself and my body and I need to feel like I’m being cared for. I love the Lapis Spa and I love the aesthetic of the Fontainebleau Hotel, two of my guilty pleasures are interior design and architecture so going to the Lapis is a real treat. I always go for the Shirodhara Abhyanga Ayurvedic Ritual Massage just to get the full experience and know what true relaxation is and I would highly recommend it for any women who’s in need of relaxing and I always finish my sesh off with an immersion mineral water jet bath followed up by a little plunge in the energy deluge shower and a final float in the essence mineral pool to rejuvenate myself.
Rubell Museum.
I have my phases where I’m absolutely obsessed with modern art and I’ve been lucky enough to visit the Rubell Museum on several occasions. The Rubell is not the place to meet men, it does not guarantee you even one thing, but it’s a great museum and it’s worth the visit. I think that any woman who wants to level up or get to the point where she’s truly confident in a large variety of circles needs to be bettering her brain and going out of her way to become exposed to different cultures, art is one of the easiest ways to slowly make yourself more interesting and become more in the know and knowing about artists and art museums is never going to hurt you. Art is also beautiful and it’s important that every woman has a little bit of beauty in her life, I’d highly recommend the Rubell for the chance to immerse yourself in different aspects of artistry.
Onyx Bar.
Mark my words, the world of fashion would be a completely different place if Gianni Versace had not been gunned down. The Versace Mansion is just one of those places that I feel like you can’t miss if you’re a fashion girl or if you like spending too much on nights out. I went on one of my first important nights out here years ago and I’m obsessed with fashion so being able to stay and eat where Gianni Versace once did was big for me. If you’re going to the VM on your own, I would recommend going for lunch just because it’s usually a lot cheaper than dinner but if you meet someone and you want to go to a Miami staple, getting dressed up and going for dinner is an experience. The one downer about the VM is that I feel like it’s been turned into an Instagram haven so it can end up becoming pretty tiring if you’re not into that sort of thing but other than that, the Versace Mansion is one of the most beautiful tourist traps and trips in all of Miami and I love going.
The Colony.
The Colony is a Palm Beach legend and I love this resort with all of my heart. If you’re into pink or just love a super feminine environment, if you’re into Lilly Pulitzer, or if the thought of staying at a really nice hotel just lights your fire, the Colony is one of the best places to visit and stay. I’ve totally moved away from chain hotels and gotten more into the wide world of boutique hotels and the Colony is one of my favourites, I love all of the different amenities, I loved my nights at Swifty’s and my lunches in the sun at the Living Room, and I loved the activities the staff went out of their way to suggest for my friends and I and all of the cocktails they poured for us. It’s a great hotel and I would highly recommend it for a staycation or to relieve any stress.
Vizcaya Museum+Gardens.
I love museums and I love gardens so Vizcaya is like a paradise to me, I get the true best of both worlds. I’m a fan of finding peace and tranquility in the smallest of places and, although the Vizcaya Gardens aren’t small, they always do the trick for me when I need a moment to relax and get lost. There are a huge number of the historical homes in Great Britain that you can walk around and they usually have gardens as well so going to visit Vizcaya is like being back in England for me except Vizcaya is in Miami and it’s tropical, the gardens are beautiful, and it’s styled after an beautiful Italian villa. Vizcaya is one of my favourite day trips in the Miami area and I cannot wait to go to my next wedding here later on in 2022. Vizcaya should be on your list.
Ligeia.

“Intimacy requires the ability to be vulnerable. To be intimate is to risk exposing our inner selves to each other; to bare our deepest feelings, desires and thoughts. To be intimate is to be the very ones we are, and to love and accept each other unconditionally. This requires self-confidence and courage. Such courage creates a new space in our relationship. That space is not yours or mine; it is ours. As a shame-based person all this was impossible for me. I had no relationship with myself. I was in hiding, not only from you but also from myself. I was a human “doing”, because I could not go inside myself. There was no one there. I had no self. My relationship with myself was rejecting and contemptuous. What I feared most of all was exposure. I had no self to give to anyone.”
