it's just that like. if I were writing a story, and somebody said, "I think that character in your story is a trans woman," and I didn't want them to think that. I would probably avoid a scene where I have someone hand that character a trans flag and call them princess. And I wouldn't change what pronouns I use for them, or have them tumble out of a closet at their introduction. Oh and I wouldn't have a scene where they get really excited about the idea of being a princess instead of a prince

Ngl it mostly started as something for shits and giggles bc Welcome To Derry was coming out, which made my Pennywise hyperfixation come back AND IT HIT ME LIKE A TRUCK, so me and my partner decided to bring back this one IT au we made when we first met that was just us putting our silly ocs into situations while my sona made out with Pennywise
However when we came back to it I realized that I didn't really fuck with that sona anymore (mf was created during my first year of highschool and I'm literally 22 now 💀), until I remembered this other oc/sona (Percy) I had during a brief creepypasta phase some years ago, which I shipped with LJ
I did some mental math and thought "What if I was a greedy bitch with TWO clown boyfriends that are obsessed with me and each other??" and that was pretty much it 😭

At first I had a hard time trying to make the polycule work bc both clowns are. Notoriously interpreted as EXTREMELY jealous and possessive in most fanworks, which made my polyamorous ass struggle a lot, however I have the power of "I can do whatever the fuck I want" and think polyamorous yanderes are not explored enough even though they're peak!! LIKE YEAH SURE, THEY CAN BE POSSESSIVE OF THEIR LOVER, BUT WHAT IF THAT POSSESSIVE BEHAVIOR EXTENDED TO MORE SELECT PEOPLE? A DRAGON PROTECTING ITS HOARD, ALL OF IT IS PRECIOUS TO THEM NO MATTER HOW BIG OR SMALL!
I very much love imagining LJ and Penny being so fucking messy and toxic but in a way that just works out for them both? They're both non human entities who struggle with human morality, they don't have the same "red flags" as us. Sometimes their foreplay can just be fighting to death and that's ok <3
WHICH ALSO BRINGS TO MY OTHER POINT; Jack has a type.
I won't go too deep into it rn bc this is already long as hell (maybe in a future post if y'all want?), but do know that in my mind Pennywise and Jason the Toymaker have very similar personalities and dynamics with Jack.
He doesn't even realize the similarities and will probably try to deny if you point it out, but alas...
So yeah, LJ loves red heads who are mean to him and easy to ragebait <3
They got a very odd and endearing dynamic that borders in Tom and Jerry slapstick territory, but can also be surprisingly sweet sometimes. Having to deal with eternity and the eventual boredom that can come with it, the experience of being trapped and abandoned, their messy emotions and temper... They have a lot of things in common even if they refuse to acknowledge it at first :]
Plus it's fun to imagine how they manage their clashing personalities/love languages! LJ tends to be VERY clingy and physically affectionate bc it helps him stay grounded and comfortable, while Penny HATES being touched out of nowhere. So there was definitely a period of time where Jack kept trying to full-body tackle Penny into a hug and got mauled as a result 💀
At the end of day they're both just two cosmic clown entities trying their best to care for their weird little human lover ^^

Penn Gray works at some boring office job, being known as a highly intelligent and charismatic individual that's rather respected in the company despite his oddly reserved demeanor. An average businessman during the day, a drag performer at night and a serial killer in between! Having that many secret identities isn't easy 😔
Percy initially met him at work (they work in the archival department at the same compay), but only truly got to know it when they were invited to one of Pennywise's shows. Unfortunately things didn't work out between them bc bro was emotionally unavailable 💔
Meanwhile L. Jack Grossman (Who refuses to say what the L stands for) has just recently moved into the city and started working for a small cafe that operates in the same building as Penn and Percy's workplace. It was a rather funny second meeting, considering that the first time Jack saw Penn was when Percy invited him to a queer club 🤔
Ngl I mostly decided to draw human versions bc I had a vision for Jack and it was too good to only stay in my brain. Penny was very straightforward tho, considering we technically already have its human version lol
The plot came naturally while me and my friends played around with the concept
