Absolutely not. The world is full of incomplete and poorly developed āadultsā who think being an adult is just paying your bills on time and having a job while ignoring that they have horrible toxic tendencies and behaviors that damage those around them, and who rather than doing enough introspection to work on these toxic behaviors so they can build healthy, lasting relationships of any kind that are mutually beneficial, they prefer to pretend like everyone else is the problem, and you donāt owe a single one of those people your friendship, love, or time. Life is far too short (and getting shorter for each person every passing day) to waste your efforts, your kindness, your love, and so on on people who only bring you negativity and who would lead you down a path of destruction if given the slightest chance. You should strive to understand others and you should be supportive of others going through tough times, but some people are absolutely beyond your help and it isnāt your job toĀ āfixā them, and staying with them only perpetuates their unwillingness to change and fix themselves because they suffer no consequences for their actions. This isnāt about ditching a friend in need selfishly, this is about people in your life who thrive on envy, self-destruction, hatred, anger, and on consistently trying to bring you down because they canāt pick themselves up.
Individuals can be toxic, the environments they create can be toxic, and their behaviors can be toxic, and the BEST thing Iāve learned at nearly 31 now is that I donāt have to put up with it, and neither do you or anyone else. There are too many wonderful, kind, respectful people who would love to have your company, time, and heart in their lives for you to waste it giving toxic, abusive persons the attention.
Move on from toxic people whenever the chance comes up, because they do exist, and watch your life improve tenfold.
