SPN 3x11: Mystery Spot
As for the Rogue Magazine photo, I saw someone pointed out on twitter that Jensen's finger on Misha's jacket looked like photoshoped because jacket can be seen through the finger. Several things really seem strange to me about that photoshoot.
When I first saw the photo, I thought there was something odd about it, that weird blur around Jensen’s edges. Looking at it closely now, I think it was probably three separate photos that were photoshopped into one composite.
1. You can clearly see the pattern of Misha’s jacket through Jensen’s fingers (too much edge blur & blending):
2. Misha’s shadow is just a drop shadow effect (a real shadow wouldn’t be the same depth like that because the distance between objects varies; it’s also on the same side as the light source, instead of the opposite, and the edges are too defined):
3. The super odd looking drop shadow effect on Jensen’s beard (distance between objects here is even more pronounced, but same depth of shadow again):
4. Jensen’s disappearing ear (too much edge blur & blending):
5. The drop shadows are not continued below their shoulders, creating an effect of no depth of field in the lower 2/3 of the photo:
