Aaron had managed to keep the guest outside for now, stumbling around to find somewhere to throw up. He turned to see Loryn. He still didn't care for William even a little bit, but Loryn seemed nice enough somehow. He shrugged. "I am aware, just trying not to step in vomit because some ass doesn't know how to drink properly."

"Seems to me like someone doesn't know how to have fun properly." Loryn teased him, struggling not to laugh as the drunk guest stumbled over a low bush and ended up sprawled out on the lawn. "You know, you miss one hundred percent of the moments you don't see because you were looking at your feet and worrying about where you step."

Aaron had intended to have a good time at this party, or at least watch people have fun. He had never felt at home with all the drinking and hookups, it just wasn't him. He had decided to try to keep the house in some kind of order. Even if no one else cared, he wanted to be respectful, he was a guest after all.

"No, no, you are about to throw up. You aren't going in the house, try a bush first."

Loryn's eyebrow raised as she watched Aaron Vandervort try to corral the drunk, stumbling party guests. She knew he didn't exactly have the best relationship with the Huntzberger family thanks to her darling brother, but she was finding this too amusing to not comment on it. "You are aware you don't live here, right? What's a bit of vomit in a vase that you don't have to clean?"

William hardly had time to reach for the door handle before Loryn had burst into the room. Of all the problems he had right now, he hadn't counted his sister as one of them. Perhaps he should have by the looks of things! He stared at her in disbelief, both eyebrows raised as he held his arms out. What the fuck was she talking about? "Loryn, I have had a long day. You are going to have to be much more specific about your grievances."

The Loungefly handbag hanging on her shoulder slid down her arm to her hand, and she proceeded to thwack him with it. "Don't be a little bitch, you know what I'm talking about!" There was no way he had almost killed her and just... didn't notice? "You almost fucking killed me!"

Loryn was furious. She had no idea what William had been playing at, but he had almost killed her with that stupid, red Mercedes mere hours ago and, honestly, it had felt kind of deliberate. Her brother was capable of unknown horrors–she knew this–but surely he wouldn't try to hurt her? "William! Open the door!" She slammed her fist on his front door aggressively, but ultimately decided she didn't have the patience to wait and stormed inside. "What the fuck was that?"

This weekend, Bella was having an exclusive party at her family's home in the Hamptons. Today, on her canonically accurate birthday, however she was enjoying drinks and cutthroat gossip with her nearest and dearest (and some others). The Palace was a reliable spot that kept away most unwanted guests. Most.

Bella was just about to say something else scathing when she turned and saw them, her brows raising- "Oh, hi. Are you joining?"

Loryn stopped abruptly, briefly forgetting what she was doing at the sound of her voice. When was the last time she had spoken to Bella directly? Despite noticing her around the city and at Logan's party, she couldn't say it was recently. Such a shame to have to break her record. "Oh my goodness! Would you seriously let me?" Her tone was overly sweet and emotional, making her sound like a character from Mean Girls. "I'm going to have to write about this in my journal."

"No, no. I already told you that I do not want to leave the city for a job. I have stuff I am dealing with right now. So, you are just going to have to tell them no or figure it out." Juliette ended the call, dropping her phone back down on the table. "Seriously, why do they take my money if they can't do their job?"

Not that she had been listening in on her conversation, but it was sounding all too familiar to her. Loryn had lost count of how many times she had heard similar phone calls coming from Ruby's room. "Agent trouble?"

Dan had been spending most of his time working on a short story whenever he wasn't at school. He had been tutoring in his free time to make some extra cash, but it had not been going too well. Most of the people he had been working with were pushing him. Definitely a little too far.

He was sitting with his head in his hands, coffee forgotten as he stared at his laptop. "I cannot keep looking at this, it's so bad." @tfrstarters

Loryn had been standing at the counter waiting for her coffee, when the guy at the table behind her proceeded to have a meltdown over his laptop. She turned curiously, a slight smile on her lips. "Dude, are you okay? Do you need me to close your laptop for you?"

'Debauchery.' The thing her match loved was debauchery. Loryn was definitely curious about who her match could be, but if she found herself stuck with some loser stoner, she was grabbing as much she could of the free food and drink that was available in that room and she was bouncing immediately. It was Valentine's Day–she wouldn't be wasting it on someone that could barely form a sentence and insisted on calling her 'bro'. Her only speckle of hope lay in the fact that someone out their face on drugs probably wouldn't even know the word 'debauchery', never mind being able to spell it.

She was the first to enter the hotel room and was quick to toss her jacket and bag on to the first clear surface–not that there were many due to the trove of refreshments and activities, including a selection of video games that she had to force herself to not load up. Loryn wasted no time in popping open the bottle of champagne and dipping her finger into the chocolate fondue. It was in that moment, that the room door swung open and she was well and truly caught with her hand in the cookie jar. Chuck Bass, perhaps she should have guessed. A smile tugged at the corner of her lips as she looked between him and the fondue. "Chocolate?"

"Logan is lucky I love them." Rylea muttered as she took a crystal champagne flute from a passing server and sipped it, her silver rings clinking gently against the glass. Then she felt a hand on her shoulder and turned, smiling. "Oh, hey!"

"Oh, I am so sorry!" Loryn laughed as she steadied herself and swiftly removed her hand from Rylea's shoulder. "My heel caught on the rug and I thought I was a goner."

"I expected nothing less of William," Lucas responded, darling affection enveloping his words, "the old faithful." There were many people on the UES that Lucas knew better than associate with, and William Huntzberger was certainly at the top of the list, but Lucas did always had a sweet spot for the scandalous.

Loryn was not scandalous, but her intellect was stimulating. She, of all people here, would understand that there's a strategy to every game. "That's what I'm trying to figure out. I'd like it to be... useful. Informative." He flipped the card over in his hand, studying the blank field for his answer. "I can't pinpoint exactly who will have anything worthwhile, but there must be some words that will lead me in the right direction. Care to leave a suggestion?"

"Maybe that's the problem." Loryn contemplated, "Maybe if people expected less of him, he wouldn't feel the need to be an absolute riot at every given opportunity." With her step-sister, Ruby, now added into the mix, was there even any room left for Loryn to cause her own mayhem? Beside the two of them and their giant egos, was there even any room left for her to breathe?

Loryn turned her thoughts and attention away from her darling siblings at Lucas' admittance and she lit up, her smile holding a devious edge that could only belong to a Huntzberger. Of course he would be looking to gain something from this; she absolutely adored his Machiavellian little mind. "Hmm..." She propped herself up on the table beside him and done a scan of the room. "Nate is public enemy number one right now, but maybe he could shed some light on the situation with his father? Freddie's been living with my brother for some reason." She paused, mildly horrified. "He might know some things, but also I'd like to know why he's slumming it there when he has a huge house on the outskirts of the city. Felicity Santiago seems to love a gossip, if you care to try to woo your old teacher." She added the last suggestion with a wiggle of her eyebrows.

What did Lucas Baizen love? Out there in the masses of socialites, no-bodies, and could-be's at this party, there was a strategic answer. Who did he want to be in the eyes of any of these people tonight?

He shuffled the card in his hand as he quietly analysed the elaborate scene, the overdressed people, and the dull conversations happening around him. If he couldn't find the most advantageous answer soon, he simply would not post it. That was plan C. "What's the story there?" He asked a passer-by, something in the back of the room having caught his interest, perhaps enough to inspire an answer for this game.

"What's happening is that my trainwreck of a brother is showing his face at yet another Logan Hunter event uninvited." Loryn couldn't recall a time when Logan had even remotely liked William, and yet his presence continued to haunt him. Embarrassing, truly. She could still remember his rants about Logan from when they were younger and had long ago convinced herself that he had a big ol' crush on them.

Her attention shifted to the card in his hand, "I'm more interested in what's going on here. Who is Lucas Baizen attempting to lure to a hotel room this evening?"

"A man can make a lifetime off saying goodnight to a moon, but the New Yorker won't think twice about publishing my coming-of-age dystopian short story that might, or might not have been loosely based off Degrassi High. If E.L. James can do it, me too." Dan had no idea Rufus had wandered off at this point of his rant, leaving his son with knitted brows as he caught the eye of the new person standing before him. As always, Dan defended himself. "-- I'm not talking to myself. I'm not some kind of, heh, weirdo-- Oh, whatever, ignore me."

"Sure you're not." It had been too long since Loryn had been back in the Upper East Side, but it felt like there were a lot of faces she didn't recognise anymore–this loon being one of them. "Please, don't let me interrupt." Slowly, the words he had been spewing caught up with her and she was suddenly hit with a buzz of excitement. "Wait, did you say the New Yorker is publishing your short story?" She noted his irritation, "Or was it that they didn't?"

My, my, if it isn't Loryn Huntzberger! Where have you been hiding? The competition is questionable at best but you have always been the smarter sibling, haven't you? The rational, practical one. You've done everything right, worked hard and played even harder. You spent most of your days with your nose stuck in a book, your laptop or in front of the webcam (streaming, of course). You're passionate, you're tenacious and you've done everything you can to distance yourself from your family's reputation. A Little Extra

Loryn Huntzberger has always had a complicated relationship with her family. Namely, her father. She has never wanted anything from him but that hasn't stopped Lawrence Huntzberger from trying. For the most part, Loryn tried to keep to herself. Spending hours poured over books, Loryn focused on her studies and learning everything she could. Later, she would focus on video game design. A self-professed nerd (queen of the nerds, actually!), Loryn is endlessly passionate. When she was in high school, she started building her online following as a streamer and cosplayer. From then, her notoriety has only grown. Unlike her father and brother, Loryn is kind. She can be sweet, welcoming and tries to do the right thing. That doesn't mean she can't manipulate when the occasion calls for it. She can be scathing, she can root out a weakness. She can act like a 'Huntzberger'. When Loryn went to college, she was so happy to be free. When her dad came to her with an offer though, she found that she couldn't refuse. No, she didn't want to refuse. He'd bought over a video game company (they were about to go bust) and needed her to run the place, full-time once she'd graduated and part-time for now. It wasn't the first time Lawrence had tried to buy her affection and it wouldn't be the last. A deal is a deal though and she knows when to take a (questionably) good one.

Connections

William Huntzberger - Loryn's beloved and embarrassing older brother. She might be the only person in the world who gets away with calling him anything other than 'William'. Loryn loves him but honestly, big yikes, often!

Ruby Reyes - when Lawrence remarried, Loryn didn't know how to feel about it. She's managed to pretty much avoid her dad's new wife and her daughter, Ruby.

Camille Hunter - her father and Camille's have been best friends their whole lives so naturally, they've known each other just as long. Loryn adores Cami, they've been friends since the crib.

Lucas Baizen - when it comes to being a smart ass, Lucas Baizen is unmatched. Luke is on Loryn's intellectual level and enjoys causing chaos with that intellect.

Bella Coates - when they were in high school, they were at each other's throats. And then... they were at each other's, um, everything else. It's a secret they've both elected to keep.
