"i couldn't agree more," bella sighed. everyone had done something outrageous and scandalous but anyone with sense, ensured that stayed secret. even with gossip girl back in their lives - it wasn't that hard. "being boring is a crime. oh, tell me about it... point an archibald at anything and its sure to suddenly implode. i don't see nate un-burying himself from this one. the apple doesn't fall far, you know."

"there's much worse than interesting. consider that a win" she confirmed, taking the glass that was handed to her. "so i'd get drinking" she smiled, lifting her own glass to her lips to take a drink. "i'll let you in on a secret, my reputation is nothing against me. i far exceed other peoples expectations. if you could smashing a glass earlier then sure property damage is there but i'm never one to rule out property damage"

bella laughed at her response but indulged in the request. she figured she'd have more fun and perhaps be less judgemental of agnes after a few drinks. "understood." once they'd both finished, she refilled their glasses. "oh? it must serve as a soft warning at least. or are you so much more than the myth that no one could possibly be ready? one smashed glass isn't the end of the world... not enough to get you banned from the hotel or anything. then again, what could at a place owned by bass industries?"

"Then to laugh at others' misfortune. Not at the moment." Lisbeth had never been one to stay angry about a blast, she had done enough wrong to deserve it. Gossip Girl was definitely her karma more than once. "Always, and you seem to be as well."

"What a shock," Bella sighed. Whether or not Lisbeth Castillo could ever claw her way back to the top, was a passing interest of Bella's. Not an investment. "Well, I don't put stock in everything Gossip Girl has to say-," lie- "Besides, look around. There are far more tragic stories unfolding than even you and I."

Zeke had always been around the Coates' sisters. Even before they started their romance, he had been friends with Caitlyn basically forever. He grabbed the glass. He needed to get this off his chest, and he knew that Bella wouldn't judge him for anything he said. "I know, I fully expected her to show up and rock my world as usual. But instead, she is in what fucking Paris? It's weird. We have spent every Valentine's Day together since middle school. I do have the time, I think we might need to. I could get Raquel to help if we need to."

"Given the severity of the situation, I will veto my usual response of 'ew' to your world being rocked by my sister. No, I know. It's such a ridiculous non-answer to 'where the hell are you' too. As if there's anything more important going on than my birthday-," she paused, waving a hand towards him- "And your eternal love, etcetera etcetera. Even our dad can't a real hold of her and she never screens his calls. Okay, fine. We plan an intervention then. I'm sure Raquel will more than on board. Maybe mercury is in retrograde or whatever."

Juliette liked to have fun. Was it really her fault if sometimes her fun came at the expense of a little social standing? She had been surprised by Bella this summer. It had been fun, but when school started again, she found herself too busy to keep it going beyond the summer. "Maybe, I mean, I think I have the tools to get myself out of trouble after almost two years of studying law. Only a moment?"

"Very, between school and modeling, I have kept myself busy." She watched Bella make their drinks. "Plus, you know, being in a situationship with Huntzberger has kept me tangled up a bit. And you?"

"Oh, you reached the 'how to get away with murder' chapters already?" Bella was joking, of course. Not something she indulged in too much around prying eyes but she'd make an exception for Juliette. She pushed Juliette's martini towards her, eyes lingering for a moment before answering, "That's the deal."

Bella nodded, taking a small sip of her own drink as Juliette answered. She knew she was focused on work and school, that was fine. It wasn't like Bella didn't have an overachiever's schedule too. "Mm... I'd heard about that. Your law degree will certainly come in handy with that one. I'm well, busy with school and composing. My sister, Caitlyn, is a prominent no show though. Not exactly the best from her lately."

with the girl finally out of the way, pen looked less annoyed than she did when she first arrived to the scene. "and yet you do know the answer to that question before trying the sample. you never learn that these people aren't worth your time, bell" she huffed, a sneaky smile finding it's way to her face "i do like saying 'i told you so'" she had her there. pen walked arm looped with her best friends to the bar

these people were complete train wrecks. what was going through these peoples brains? pen scoffed at the news that was being divulged to her. "that all sounds utterly hideous and crass" she rolled her eyes at the mention of vanessa and dan's attendance "a nuclear bomb could go off and those two would crawl out of the woodwork. for two people that think they're morally superior they sure love showing up at upper east side kids events. then again, one has fallen from their high horse after her escapade with chuck bass was put on blast"

bella would argue that she did have incredibly high standards, she just gave into her impulses more often than she should. she allowed her heart to get involved when she shouldn't. in truth, there was nothing casual about isabella coates but who was going around advertising that? her love life wasn't exactly perfect. "i am aspiring to your strength every day, pen. i can promise you that."

she nodded along as pen continued to cut down the usual suspects. "right? i mean, seriously. the cockroaches of the upper east side... that sounds about right. if i never have to pretend like i care about either of them again, i'll be able to die happy. oh my god, right? vanessa abrams and chuck bass... now there's a match made in hell. it's just so sad. she's never going to be apart of our world, no matter who she sleeps with." now, bella was being conscious to leave out gossip girl's other blasts tonight. pretending her feelings weren't real was a bella coates special. "she'd bail if she had any sense. i'm sure chuck won't even have blinked."

Jackson grinned, chucking at Bella's reaction. At least he had some priority, even if he had to fight for it. "Yo, not you tryna slut shame me. In 2026? Crazy. I didn't scare her away, you dismissed her which ya know, you should be glad I didn't make a move on her earlier." He teased. Okay so he didn't have a reason but he would make it up. "Wait are you supposed to be stealing girls from Jesse?"

"Cry me a river, Jackson," she huffed, rolling her eyes at her increasingly least favourite cousin. He was lucky she had so much patience for this family. "Oh, please. What move were you going to wow her with? Besides, I'm sure if me and Stacey-," was that her name?- "are meant to be, we'll be. Jesse, oh my god. If there's ever been someone who should stop jumping from woman to woman, it's him. Be so serious right now."

at bella's dismissal of the girl, pen was already inpatient at how slowly she was leaving. "quickly" she demanded, clapping her hands twice to hurry her up. ignoring the girl from that point on, she returned her attention to bella "are they fun or are they a means to a disappointing end?" no one could live up to bella in pen's opinion, and no one was ever going to get her approval "it's a burden to carry but someone has to do it. i'd never say no to a refil and a catch up with you over drinks. so come on, fill me in, what have i missed? who's a mess?"

a small smile tugged on her lips at penelope's absolute lack of patience. poor stacey (stacey, right?). fortunately, she was long forgotten now that pen was here to occupy her time. bella rolled her eyes at pen's question but not without affection, they both knew she was right. "well, i'm not supposed to know that it'll be a disappointing end when we're making out for the first time. i need to be shocked and appalled every time. otherwise, how could you rightly tell me 'i told you so'?" she teased. "music to my ears, pen," she grinned, looping their arms and leading them both back over to the makeshift bar. gossip was such a passion of theirs.

"oh my god, don't get me started-," she was totally getting started, "i mean, besides the obvious messes... jake hunter wrinkling in the hot tub for nth hour, hello? and tabby dryden making a show of herself, i mean really, tying the cherry stem? so two years ago." the fact that very move had once made bella's jaw drop was not important. "did you see that vanessa is here? and dan humphrey, kill me. it's like there's nowhere we can escape anymore."

Juliette shrugged, a smirk on her lips. She wasn't sure which part Bella was agreeing to. Either way, she was right. "How could I forget?" She winked. "They can, because I am going to steal some time with the birthday girl."

She took a seat on top of the bar. "Besides my taste in partners." She shrugged. "Tequila or gin. Dealers' choice."

"How indeed," she smiled. Until last summer, Bella hadn't thought of Juliette Vanderbilt as more than a spectacle to be admired from afar. A wildfire that would spread if you weren't careful. Getting tangled up with her wasn't her smartest move. Then again, nothing 'casual' ever was. "Turning to a life of crime, are you? Well, I suppose you can consider me yours for a moment then."

Bella let out a laugh without meaning to as she shrugged. "Gin it is." Two classic martinis were easy enough. "So... have you been staying busy?"

"Never," Theo exclaimed, hand on heart, offended. "Hey, sometimes a guy just wants to watch, Bella. That's what that chair in every hotel room is for. I'd happily occupy yours any time, any day." He shrugged, "I don't shit where I eat. Mostly. Sometimes."

"I'm blown away at the offer," Bella said dryly, rolling her eyes again at him. It was then she remembered that - okay, it was Stacey, right? - was still there. "Why don't you go get us some more drinks? Go on, sweetheart. Bring a spray bottle for this one while you're there." She scoffed at his answer but she was far from shocked. "Just on days that end in 'y', I'm sure. You must have some other ambitions for tonight, no?"

"Vanessa is certainly a choice..." Blair muttered the words to herself as she read the blast about Chuck and Vanessa for the fourth time. His actions had no affect on her; absolutely none. Chuck could do whatever and whoever he liked, but why did her friends keep insisting on slumming it with the Brooklynites?

"That's a trap, you know?" she greeted, holding her head purposefully higher. Bella was not going to react to it, she refused. After all, what did it matter anyway? Judging by the way Blair was clutching her phone, there was no reason to think she was even a thought in her head. "Thinking that Chuck Bass has any standards at all."

"God, I missed seeing her drop these bombs right on people." Lisbeth was a big fan of Gossip Girl's work so far tonight. The party had been fun so far, but it needed this to spice things up another level. She didn't know which reveal was more interesting. "Messy, messy."

"As if there's nothing better to do, Lisbeth," Bella commented from behind her sunglasses and daiquiri. She wasn't going to give anyone the satisfaction of watching her react to whatever slop 'Gossip Girl' was throwing out here. "Enjoying yourself?"

in all honesty, agnes didn't even bother to read the card of whatever the persons fact was. they had been paired with her which meant that they were at least fun and what was fun without a little surprise. she tossed the card and picked up the key and began her travels to the room number that was allocated.

she was convinced her match would hear her coming thanks to the diamonds, gems and pearls rattling against one another on top of her chest, she was like a one woman band walking down the corridor. entering the room, she kicked the door closed behind her and sauntered over to to bella "fuck yeah" she answered "so your my allocated match of the evening, interesting"

"i can drink to 'interesting'," bella offered, handing agnes her glass and holding her own up to her. she very well might need to given agnes andrews' reputation. it was hardly a secret, wasn't it? she had never run in agnes' circles before and it wouldn't be a particularly sensible idea to start. but... it was valentine's day. "i must say, your reputation proceeds you. i don't suppose you already have 'property damage' on the list of activities for tonight?"

"or is the smartest way to live without shame and then nothing gossip girl can say would mean anything? being an open book suits me better. closed books don't have any stories, live authentically i say."

"well, i don't know about that. there are certainly a few that i could name that should have more shame, never mind none at at all. not you, though, obvi-," she added. more like georgina sparks, for example. more like serena van der woodsen, in her opinion. "that is inspiring, though. are you planning on living authentically in all these bars we're hopping?"

Juliette liked casual, she had learned in high school. Dating and feelings lead to nothing good. Bella, William, and Freddie had all been fun, but none of them had ever made a move towards more. And she was okay with it, as of right now, that's what she preferred.

"Smart answer from a smart woman. Oh, I live on thin ice, keeps things exciting." Juliette had tried to be good, but it wasn't natural, and she was back to her real self, a messy bitch. "I would love a good one. You are a great bartender."

"That much is deeply undeniable," Bella mused. Whether that was her smarts or Juliette's perfected ability to bring the drama... who could say? Either way, it seemed Bella was just as unable to deny her now than summer. "Well, I'm glad you remember. I'm sure my other guests will manage to entertain themselves a while."

She proceeded to lead them over to the bar, making her way behind it. "A dangerous question, I'm sure, but what's your poison?"
