THE starry night sky gleamed, stars dashing across the horizon. The night was silent, peacefulâperfect.
âIsnât it beautiful, the cluttered sky?â The voice of a male rang, reaching up at the night sky as if to touch the stars. âItâs not often when the skies are full of so many distant sunsâŚâ
The voice of another stifled a laugh, âYou mean the stars? Heh, theyâre cool, I guess.â
The took males were at the edge of a cliff, one standing while the other was sitting at the edge.
âDo you not like them?â The first, calmer voice asked, his tone holding a bit of worry as he tore his gaze from the starry sky to look at the male thatâs was sitting down beside him.
The standing figure was a beautiful male of warm brown skin. His eyes give a beautiful golden glow, and his graceful body was dressed in loose green robes with golden lines sketched throughout it. His body was dazzled with golden and beautiful green vines, stretching from the golden choker on his neck to the ankle of his bare soles. The boy ran his fingers through his short and tousled white hair that was occasionally met with braids and tangled also with golden vines, a nervous gesture.
âNo, thatâs not the point! I just have a view thatâs way more interestingâŚâ The other male said, gazing lovingly at the standing man.
The sitting male was one with a lean more athletic build. He had short black, messy hair that was heavily dyed a dark blue at the tips. Long and perky blue rabbit ears stuck up from his hair. His eyes were a tantalizing color of blue, and he has a beautiful mark right below his right eye. His clothes consisted of a basic, sleeveless compression bodysuit, and a pair of blue shorts for more clothing. He wore small hoop earrings and dark blue knee guards, wearing a pair of sneakers thatâs look almost new.
The male with the long, golden hair raised at brow at the male with bunny ears. âWhat view could be as enticing as the stars.â He asked.
The sitting male chuckled, âYou are oblivious as hell when Iâm tryna flirt, huh? I was talking about you!â
âMe? With all due respect, Dash, my look is nothing close to the distant suns!â The male said with a smile.
The rabbit boy released a chuckle as his ears twitched, and he hopped up to his feet with a grunt.
âYou seriously believe that? Youâre the literal Embodiment of Life!â He said as he walked up to the white haired male, a grin on his face that was both playful and loving.
âThat reason is why I adore all of what life has to offer above myselfâeven some of the bad things.â
âIs that so, Rosebud? Then,â The shorter male grabbed the taller by their collar, pulling them down before kissing them.
The Emanator Of Lifeâs eyes were blown open in surprise before shutting slowly, letting the shorter male dominate the kiss in this passionate moment. After silently being given the green light, Dash deepened the kiss and adored low, pleased moans that came from the being of life itself. A few moments pass before Dash broke the kiss for air, leaving them both breathless.
âHowâŚabout that?âŚâ Dash said in between his breaths before showing a grin. âYouâll cherish that, right?â
The Typifier Of Life blushed before releasing a chuckle. âThe treat of romance is one of the most fragile aspects of life, butâŚitâs nice to haveâŚespecially from youâŚâ
Dash blushed as well before facing away with a scoff, âJeez, youâre so damn cheesyâŚâ
âWell, you are the one who started the entire thing. I was innocently trying to look at the starsâŚâ
Dash scoffed playfully, âYeah, yeah, whatever you say.â
A moment of comforting silence had passed before Dashâs left rabbit ear twitched at a thought that just popped up in his head. He looked at the Typifier with a raised brow.
âHey, uh, werenât we supposed to be helping with somethingââ Just as he said that, a figure was launched in between them like a shooting star, crashing a few feet away from them with a groan.
The Typifier and the bunny boy had glanced at one another before approaching the prone man. They were dressed in a knightâs armor, no helmet being worn, which showed their warm brown skin, curly brown hair, and a handsome face that was riddled with freckles. The man sat up with another groan, rubbing the side of his head. His beautiful green eyes suddenly narrowed as he noticed Dash and the Typifier.
âSir Arthur!â The Typifier smiled.
âHey man.â Dash waved casually.
The freckled man looked between the two and his eye twitched, âWhat in the BLOODY HELLS are you two doing all the way over here?!â The freckled man, now known as Arthur, had growled out, his newfound anger overwriting his recent pains.
âYâknow, I had the same question for youâŚâ Dash said as he watched The Typifier help the freckled man up before continuing. âItâs not often that the great Sir Arthur gets put on his ass. Itâs kind of a fun sight!~â Dash said teasingly. âSo, whatcha doing then? Seeing how far you can jump? Sparring? A serious spar?â
âNo, none of those.â Sir Arthur said as he grabbed Dashâs shoulder, a menacing aura surrounding the knight that unnerved Dash to the point of sweating a bit. âYou wanna know what weâre doing?â The brown haired male asked with a kind smile that didnât match his pissed vibes.
Sir Arthur pointed off in a direction, and the two clueless males followed his pointed finger. In the distance, three big dragons were attacking a spacious village, all in different colors; a red one that was spitting fire; a grey one that shooting out sharp and heavy stones; and a blue one was shooting out thunder from its bodyâmostly its jaws.
The three of them could hear people screaming in this distance, most begging for help from someone.
âI believe that I remember what weâre assigned to doâŚâ The Typifier said with a nervous laugh as he fiddled with his fingers.
Arthur sighed, ignoring the pleads from the villagers he was tryna save. âDear Typifier, your holiness, I have no idea what you see in thisâŚmessenger, but he clearly is a negative influence!â The knight said as he bluntly gestured to Dash, who definitely took offense.
âNegative influence?! Iâm not a negative influence on him!â Dash yelled. âIf anything, Iâm making him happy and teaching him to relax!â
âTeaching him?! Heâs the embodiment of life itself and all things that come with it! He doesnât need to learn anything from you!â Arthur argued.
âMaybe not, but you could probably take a few lessons from me?â
âWhat the hells is that supposed to mean?â Arthur growled, getting all in Dashâs face.
Dash grinned at the challenge, âOh, I think you know what that meansâŚâ
The voice of the Typifier cut through the tension the two had. The brown skinned male had a nervous expression, but he was still smiling.
âIâm all for the teamwork, butâŚmaybe we should be helping the people now?â The male said with his nervous smile.
âYes, youâre correct, your holiness.â Arthur said as he straightened his posture. âPlease, if you donât mind, lend me your strength in this battle.â
Arthur bowed before leaping back into the air, back towards the village with his jagged sword drawn.
âWe must help as much as we can to atone for letting so many deaths slip through our grasp.â
âYeah, I got it! Race ya!â Dash grinned before blitzing off immediately, causing a big shockwave from the surprise speed, as well as, leaving behind spark of blue electricity.
The blue haired rabbit boy made it to the village that was once so far away in record timingânot even breaking into a sweat or taking a small breath. Matter of fact, he saved an elderly woman that was seconds away from being burned to death. âHaha, first!â
âActually, dearest, I believe that I was here first.â A familiar voice rang as they placed their hand on Dashâs left shoulder.
Dash looked over to see the Typifier of Life himself, âWha-when did you get here?â He asked as he set the woman down and ushered her off to safety.
âSeconds before you got here!â
âBut it only took me a few seconds!â
The embodiment of life chuckled, âI do apologize, but maybe you could win the next time.â
âActually, to the both of you dumbasses, IâM the first one here.â
At the sudden new voice, a feeling of unease and dread ran through Dashâs body. The speedster looked towards the direction of the newcomer, seeing a tall male that was the same height as the Typifier Of Life. They have crimson red eyes that could pierce through oneâs soul, and long jet black hair with red streaks that reached down to his waist. The maleâs attire consisted of long, dark robe-style garments. He wore a compressed black shirt that hugs his torso enough to show heâs broad-shouldered and well-built. Around his waist is a wide sash or belt, in a rich red hue. The sash is tied off with long ends hanging down in frontâit adds a sharp contrast to the rest of his dark outfit. His lower half consists of a long and baggy, jet black trousers that flowed in the wind.
The man walked up to the two with a grin, a jagged sword of black color with red and crooked lines etched into it draped on his left shoulder, gleaming with ominous energy.
âDeath.â Dash said with a narrowed gaze, his voice more serious.
âBrother? What a surprise. Why are you here?â The Typifier said in a questioning tone.
The man shrugged with his grin, âIt looked like you were having fun, so I decided that I wanted to join ya, problem?â
âNo, not at all! I appreciate the help! It is just thatâŚyouâre not exactly one to help mortal beingsâŚâ
The Typifier Of Death shrugged once again, âI was bored. Speaking of mortal affairs,â Deathâs gaze met Dashâs, the shorter blue haired male glaring back at them, which earned a mocking chuckle. âI see you still entertain yourself with this plaything of yoursâŚâ
âPlaything? Iâm not a plaything!â Dash scowled.
âI beg to differ, plaything!~â
âI am so gonna beat your ass!â Blue electricity surged throughout Dashâs body as his anger flared at being mocked.
âDearest,â The Embodiment Of Life placed a hand on each of Dashâs shoulders, looking at the male with an endearing expression. âPlease donât mind my brother. He has a way for teasing mortals like such. Do not let his words get under your skin. Besides, there is a bigger issue here.â The white haired male gestured to the ongoing chaos provided from the dragons that continued to torment the villageâlesser in numbers now but still a powerful onslaught. âWould you mind helping them more?â
Dash tore his gaze from Death with a scoff, looking at his lover with a softer look that still radiated anger from the other maleâs earlier words. âWhatever, I got it. Leave it to me.â He said before dashing off in a surge of blue bolts.
âWhat fun do you get from this? Their life is temporary! Soon, they will belong to me unless you give them immortality, but you donât wanna curse them like that, do you?â The Typifier of Death said casually.
Life sighed, âYes, I know their ending is inevitable, and I do not wish to make them suffer enteral life, which is why o will try my hardest to preserve.â
Death rolled his eyes, âYou and your life bullshit gets on my nerves, brother.â
Life smiled, âWell, your ongoings of death doesnât give me free days either. I still remember the Flame Tail incident.â
âOh fuck off.â Death said with a grin.
A thunderous roar shook the ground the two stood on, drawing their attention back to the still suffering village that they have ignored way too much of at this point.
âWell, I believe itâs time we joined the action. Try not to kill them, yeah?â
Deathâs grin widened, âNo promises! Letâs put an end to this shit show!â He said before running off to slay whatever misfortune dragon becomes his first target.
Life sighed and shook his head with a smile before running forward too.
And, that couldâve been it.
Itâs couldâve been perfect.
Sure, the world still had its ups and downs, but it was perfect for him right here. The smiles, the laughs, and the shared pains.
Why did that have to change?
The skyâs clouded with darkness, leaving the lands below in an everlasting black that was never interested in fading away. Thunder boomed throughout the skies and from them, striking down to set unsuspecting trees ablaze in crimson-orange flames. The air was foggy with ash, suffocating those who inhaled it; however, the land itself was bare. There was no plants, no animals, no beasts, no people. There werenât even any humans that walked along the ground. It was all goneâall dead amongst the once lively world.
The fair body of a white haired male had flew and crashed into an abandoned rubbled building. He bared wounds on his arms, legs, and faceâall healing within due time. He winced as he pulled himself out of the rubble, rocks falling in place to fill the space he crashed into. His glowing amber eyes gleamed as he stood on his feet, forcing them to straighten as they healed without issue. As he stood tall, he faltered a bit after. An unusual wound was on the manâs left shoulder that cut down to his arm. It radiated a red glow that pulsed, ensuing pain into the boyâs entire being. He placed his hand over the wound in an attempt to soothe it, but his attempt was futile. The wound still pained on, but he ignored it.
âWhatâs wrong?â A voice asked in an angered tone. The sound of feet waking on gravel spiked white haired maleâs attention, and his gaze narrowed at his pursuer. âCanât handle the power of death?â The pursuer said with his glowing crimson eyes.
âDy, you have to stop thisâŚall of thisâŚâ The white haired male said as he gestured towards the dying and decaying world, his voice a lot more smooth than the gruff one the opposing male had. âThe world canât handle the spell! Call it off!â
The black haired male chuckled,âOh brother, you donât have the mantle over my judgmentâŚâ The man said as he slowly walked towards his brother. âIn my opinion, the world should be shrouded in nothing but death. People live just die after all. What you have as the Embodiment Of Life is only temporary! Death is permanent! I am permanent, Liv.â Death said, stopping a few inches before his brother. âBesides, you are the reason this is happening! When I allowed you to spread your life, your peace, our enemies started to see that we wereâŚweak.â He growled in a rise of aggression before punching Liv away, causing him to crash upwards through another crumbling building before being suspended in the air. Before he could even recover, he was knocked back down by another attack from Death.
Liv caught his harsh fall, caving the ground beneath him. Immediately noticing his brotherâs advance, he stepped back, dodging an attack that milliseconds from hitting him.
âWhatâs wrong, brother?â Dy released a chuckle, but there was no humor. In his glowing crimson eyes, Liv could see his brotherâs pain, annoyance, and frustration. âWhy arenât you fighting back? You took hits that I know you couldâve countered. Are you scared?â He glared, âHm, no, thatâs not it. Donât tell me that youâre showing the same mercy youâve showed our enemies, the same ones that killed mom and dad, our grandparents, even your lover! You allowed them to live, corrupting proper justiceâdeath! This world is tainted with you!â
The red scar on Livâs should had pulsed, coursing pain through him.
âIt hurts, right?â Dy grinned, âThat wound is the perfect example as to why killing someone is the fastest way to putting them out of their misery. The longer you are alive, the more you suffer. That is a curse, even for us! MercyâŚhas a cost, and itâs always heftyâŚâ
âBut so does killing! Itâs not always so justified, no matter how easy you make it sound!â Liv shot back, wincing in pain from the glowing mark. âL-look, YesâŚyouâre right, itâs my fault, and Iâm sorry.â
âSorry? Sorry?! Itâs way too late for a fucking sorry! Because of you, everyone is dead!â Dy growled as he launched crimson red arcs of magic towards Liv. The white haired male swiped his hand, a green shield forming in front of him just in time to block the attack.
âMy mercy led to this, but donât think your harsh way of judgement was justifiable either. If one lied, you felt they needed to die; if one stole, you felt they needed to die! As time went on, whenever someone did something that rubbed you the wrong wayâno matter how insignificant, you tried to kill them! I canât just stand around and let you take away the lives of people without cause! Your ways of doing things made people uneasy around you, even mom was worried about what you would turn out to be.â Liv argued, his white hair flaring up and flowing in the ash wind. âIâll admit that my mercy led to horrible results, but when will you admit that your magic and the destinies our father has taught has turned you into a cold monster!â
âMonster?!â Dyâs hair flares, âYou really think Iâm the monster?â
âLook around,â Liv started as he gestured towards the grey world, ash of decaying plants and rubble surrounding the air. âYouâve killed billions of innocents, trampling with life unprovoked! If anything, youâre the one coveting my judgment now. The grief and power got to your head, and Iâm sorry for pushing you that far. As your brother, Iâm really ashamed, but you have crossed the line.â Liv glared, which made the other male that opposed him glare as well.
âYâknow, itâs easy to cross your line of tolerance when you donât want anything to be killed! When will you learn that protecting life from death is meaningless?!â The male dashed towards Liv with a reeled back punch. Liv matched his brotherâs aggression, crashing his own punch with his brother. The sudden clash of forces had rippled space and cracked the skies with thunder.
Dy advanced, throwing punches and kicks at his brother, who restlessly dodged and blocked themâbut he didnât attack back. Dy noticed his brotherâs passiveness, putting more force into his strikes. âCome on, whatâs with you?! Have you forgotten the fighting lessons our father taught us? Have you?! Sitting back and allowing me to attackâŚis only disgracing him!â He roared before landing a harsh knee in Livâs abdomen.
As the pain from the strike settled in with the aching of the unusual wound, Liv wobbled to his knees. He used his right hand to press it against his abdomen, hissing in pain that slowly faded away thanks to his healing body.
âYouâre pathetic.â Dy glared down at his brother, âIf youâre the Embodiment Of Life, then why the hell wonât you fight for it?! Iâm killing the world, Iâm threatening to end everything that you enjoy! Why wonât you end it, huh?!â
âBecause youâre my brother!â Liv had yelled out, looking up at Dy. âYouâre my brother, Phyrous. If I end all of this, that means that I would have to end you. Thereâs no wayâŚI could kill youâŚeven if it means the worldâŚâ
Dy clicked his tongue, âYou canât be serious. I guess dad was right about you and mom, youâre both delusional with the vision of everlasting peace and love.â Dy grabbed Liv by the collar, lifting him up to suspend him in the air. âBut when will you come to reality, huh?! Everyone is dead, Liv! I just donât understand you! Our whole life together, you didnât want me to kill anythingâyou got in the way of death, and that all ended in shit! But now, when you have the golden chance to save the whole worldâto give life a second chance, you donât want to?â
Liv grasped the arm that held him in the air, a weak chuckle escaping him. âThatâŚsounds about right.â He said simply.
Dy clicked his tongue, âSo dumb.â He said before punching Liv through his chest. The body he held up so tightly fell limp in the matter of seconds, and he released it with a scoff once he pulled his fist out of the bloody hole he had created.
He looked at his fist. It was covered in blood, his brotherâs blood and guts, stained his fist like red paint. âYou may be stupid, but thereâs no way youâd die that easy.â
Livâs voice rang through the air and Dy looked up to see his brother hovering high in the air, hands on his hips. âLife doesnât lose easily, especially to self-righteous judgment.â
Dy looked back down to gaze at the body of his brother that he âkilled,â watching it fade away.
âA cloneâŚâ Death huffed.
âYou know more than anyone how Iâm accustomed to Universal Magic more than my ownâŚâ Liv sighed as he outstretched his palm towards his brother below, âUniversal Magic: Blast.â
Liv shot three condense orbs in rapid succession that hurled towards Dy. The Embodiment of Death summoned his sword, slashing two of the blast before leaping back to dodge the last one. The last orb hit the decaying ground, creating a wide plain of sparkling plants and vines.
Dy couldnât even recover from his evasive leap before he was kicked away by Liv. The Death tumbled before he caught himself, his feet digging into the earth to keep him from going far. He retaliated with a quick projectile arc of red energy at Liv, who quickly formed a clone in front of himself to take the blow. The two continued their clash of powers, ones that sparked the world with thriving life or everlasting death.
Liv quickly summoned vines to coil around Dyâs limbs, which made the other male snarl at the golden restrictions.
âBrother, stop this. You always talk of our fatherâs words and way, but what of our mother? She believed that no difference was between us; that Death was a part of Life, as well as, Life was a part of Death! She believed that no matter what we embodied that moving on and growing from the past was the prime process for both of us! When will you take her words to heart?!â
âNEVER!â With a spiking aura of red, the golden vines that held Dy had decayed. âHer words that influenced youâŚare what led to this. And youâre telling me that you still look up to her!â
Dy dashed up to Liv, his sword wield in one hand. Liv quickly created thin, glowing gold threads between his fingers and held them up to block the strike from Dy with a loud clink. Despite this, Dy kept attacking into Livâs defenses.
âI canât believe this! Even when reality is shown to you, you still hang by your delusions!â He growled out as he kept up his powerful strikes.
Every punching word was met with a powerful blow from Dy. Liv staggered with every one, but he still held his groundâhis defenses staying strong despite it only being thin, golden threads between his fingers.
âThe world is only in deathâs hands, my hand! Thereâs no reason to struggle, to think, to fear.â Dy did a final strike into the threads, glaring at Liv through the struggle.
But, despite the harsh glare, Dy had tears streaming down his face. His emotions, no matter how much he hated them, leaked through his face. âJust die with the rest of them.â Dy said, his voice wavering a bit.
The sight broke Livâs heart, more so than it already was. There was so much that happened.
The world is almost dead.
And his brother was against him.
He never truly believed that Dy was an embodiment with no tearful emotions, but this was the first time heâs seen it leak through.
Heâs seen Dy injured and be witness to tons of things, but he never once had cried. This, apparently, was too much even for them.
It made tears well up in Livâs eyes.
âThings have been bad, have they? IâŚwill make them betterâŚto everyoneâŚâ
Dy scoffed, âAnd how do you plan to do plan to do that, dumbass! EVERYONE! IS! DEAD!â The Death had kicked The Life away. Liv fell back a couple feet away, making the ground cave in. âThere is nothing left to make better.â
âNo. Not here.â Liv smiled before he stood up, ignoring the pain he felt from the red wound still on his shoulder. âNot this time.â He said as various flowers grew beneath him alongside tall grass. A small crown of golden vines and leaves appearing around his head as he outstretched his arm, palm held upwards.
A seed, one shaped like a teardrop, had formed above Livâs hand. âA great thing about life is that if it survives, it adapts; therefore, I adapt.â Livâs magical energy surged, casting life upon the once dying field. âAnd I will continue to until we live in harmonyâŚâ
âHarmony is an illusion just like life.â Dy growled, âI will not allow you to get in my way again!â Dy red aura flared his eyes being pitch black with those same crimson pupils.
âDeath Magic: Rotting Reach.â
As the spell of death was casted, a rush of decay spread throughout the already dying land. A giant, clawed hand rushed towards Liv with speeds beyond mortal comprehension, but it all seemed so slow to the Typifier Of Life.
âEmbodiment Magic, Life:â
Liv dropped the seed onto the dead ground, which sunk into the dried soil like heavy metal dropping into water. In the slowed time of milliseconds, a giant tree sprouted from the ground. The tree was white in a color, its leaves being purely gold. An eye was at the center of the trees bark, being gold in color.
The claw of death was negated by the treeâs presence, shocking Dy.
âLiv, what the hell are you doing?!â
Liv looked at his younger brother in silence, only showing a sad smile.
âI will try again till everyone lives to tell their storyâŚeven youâŚâ
Dy growled, his form being covered in black fog and Xâs where his eyes should be. âIâve had enough of you!â He raged, his voice now a demonic echo before he lunged at Liv.
âSee you in the morning, brotherâŚâ Liv showed a final smile to his brother before everything was blinded by white.
Then, he awakes in comfort.
He was in a bed with warm green colors, a tree overhead, thriving with life as leaves fell from it and onto his resting area.
One fell on his face, and he steadily moved it off with his hand, which was much smaller than usual. Liv sat up, looking at his smaller hands and frailer body.
âIâmâŚa kid againâŚâ He mumbled to himself before looking at the spacious room of a meadow, his room. âThe spell worked. It rewound time.â He smiled softly. âI can try to prevent what I causedâow, whatââ
The joy that rose up in him was cut when he felt a pain on his left shoulder. Surprised, he looked to see a woundâa red one that reeked of death.
âIt followed me even when time has been reset.â Liv said as he narrowed his gaze at the Wound Of Death. âIt makes sense. I wasnât able to complete the New Dawn spell to make it a total reset, which is why itâs powerful enough to reset my body but not my mind.â The Life sighed, golden vines sprouting to wrap around his entire left arm to cover the wound. âAnd it even seems that this Spell Of DeathâŚwas stronger than an Embodiment SpellâŚâ
Liv moved the covers off himself, âThe question is: how far was I sent back?â
The sudden shout of his name made him jolt. That innocence in a voice that sounded so familiar.
âLiv!â Someone bursted through his room door. âLiv, you awake?â
It was Dy, his younger brother.
He was the nearly the same as Liv. His hair was shorter than his elder one, the red streaks still being prominent. He was dressed in a dark charcoal tunic with a simple high collar, long sleeves but slightly loose, cinched at the forearms. His pants being fitted dark trouser. He daunted a wooden sword over his shoulders, grinning to show his angular teeth.
âYouâre awake, yes! Come on, dad is giving us a real mission today! Itâll help the kingdom!â Dy jogged up to Liv, grabbing the white haired maleâs right arm. âCome on, come on!â Dy whined, tugging at Livâs arm.
âSo, this is when we were trusted with our first assignment from father. Twenty years ago, right? The time where Dy wanted to prove himselfâŚâ
âPlease allow me to get dressed, then I will join youâŚâ
Dy grinned, releasing Livâs arm. âAlright, fine! Donât take too long or I will drag you out naked!â Dy turned and walked out of Livâs room.
âDonât worry, Dy. I will make it rightâŚin this newest DawnâŚâ
