This year has included many changes for me, but one that is most memorable and loved is my tattoo. I never imagined I would get one and if perhaps I had, it would've been a minute ink stain. My life has been quite a rollercoaster, for as long as I can remember. I placed this quote on the back of my left shoulder, so that when the going gets rough, I may always look behind me (to my "past") and remember that I overcame things of great magnitudes. Whenever a new challenge might happen, it will be tackled as well, merely because I always persist. In life there will be losses, there will be victories, there will be the in-betweens. People will feign care, tell you that your qualities are not good enough, and try to bring you down. Don't let them. Stay true to your convictions, appreciate the qualities you possess, understand that change is a good thing and to adapt is to succeed. Finally, have resilience, enjoy the feeling of strength within your bones when something seems to overpower you. These circumstances are meant to train us for the next big hurdle, but also for the next great thing. Out of all of my traits, I believe I have an immense strength within me, for through all I've encountered? I remain kind, loving, and accepting. Those that are part of my everyday are a true testament to who I am as a person, because they keep me grounded and continue to make me better. Thank you to my best friends who keep me going; thank you to the adults I've encountered that treat me as one of their own; thank you to a man that loves me for me; thank you to Senator Liz Warren for being my everyday hero and with her actions trending the #NeverthelessShePersisted movement. Lastly, thank you to life for always throwing me curveballs. The hardships I encounter have built my character and I'm a better woman for it. The fight is always worth it. ❤️
