That look is everything. It’s rage and hate, laced with excitement and euphoria. It’s a cocktail of desire just ready to explode and if Emma hadn’t walked off we’d have seen it. She want’s to fight her, fuck her up, and just fuck her. She wants the conflict, the rush of getting physical, the release of finally having someone to battle again.

That’s still one of the best scenes they ever filmed because you can see the adversary in both their faces. Emma, the orphan who runs and cares about nothing chooses to stand her ground and refuses to back off. And Regina, who has been bored out her skull for all those years is finally finding someone to actively challenge her, to push her buttons and make her feel something again. It’s fantastic, and I’ll never get over it.
