so tumblr did us dirty with another update,    but this one is by far the worst.    I am slowly coming to terms with it  &  at the same time I’m patiently waiting for the new-xkit team to fix as much as they can  ( they truly deserve a round of applause. )   I miss the old interface so much but what I miss most is putting blockquotes before icons  &  having those blockquotes actually show up ???    so here’s something I made because I really would do anything for the Aesthetic™   &   idk how helpful it is,  but here it is anyway lmao.  

1) contains 7 psd files. 2) width for all files is 540 px (tumblr post-width)   &   the heights vary from 100px to 40px. 3) there’s a maximum of 20 blockquotes to a minimum of 1. 4) you can customize it entirely according to your taste:   the number of blockquotes,  the colour of the blockquotes,  the spacing,  etc.       5) the blockquotes in the files are aligned in a way that when your rp partner reblogs the post,   the image will line up with the blockquote on rest of the text of your reply.  6) basic knowledge of ps is required.  7) NO BORDER OR COLOURING IS PRESENT IN THE FILES.   only the lines.

Dashboard Userstyle. I’ll Be There for You. // Download/Install.

Officially and fully updated to work with Tumblr’s code update of July 2020, this is a simple yet elegant recolouring of the dashboard as to appease those who’d rather stray from the traditional blue. Heavily inspired by the Black Dashboard once offered by Tumblr back in 2010 as to raise awareness for the BP Oil Spill, I took the liberty of polishing the overall dashboard, working with additional padding and spacing as to create a much more relaxed viewing. This is accompanied by a unified font size and an altered line height.

Installation

1. Install Stylus, here for Chrome/Opera, and here for Firefox. Restart your browser. 2. Navigate to the ‘Download/Install’ link noted above and click ‘Install Style’. 3. Done! Enjoy your new dashboard!

TL;DR: tumblr’s new dashboard is a permanent change, xkit will not be making a way to go back to the old dashboard but will be updating certain extensions to the new dashboard, xkit is not gone you just need to hard-refresh the page.

so, everyone, i’m going to say this so that information can be kept up with and so that everyone knows what’s going on. basically, the new xkit team has been working with tumblr support and knew that the old dash would not be available. here’s a screenshot from the new xkit discord (which you can join from their main blog to see more updates) explaining that:

the reason the xkit symbol is not showing up on the dash is because of the new soft-refresh feature that tumblr has. if you want to update extensions/check your xkit you just need to do a hard refresh (i.e. pressing the refresh icon at the top left of the page).

there will no longer be the option to support small text, and if you would like it back please do not go to the xkit admins about this. they keep redirecting everyone to talk to support about certain elements we’d like back. for example, if you want small text and also non-soft refresh then you’ll need to talk to support and file a claim.

again, here is the link that’s in the screenshot i attached. these are all the extensions that will be supported in the future.
