American artist Matthew Cusick creates an inventive series of artwork based on collages of vintage maps to make beautiful paintings of waves. The artist uses these geographic layouts and their varying shades of blue, beige and earthy tones to create the tumbling tides of seas. Intuitively using the color and the compact text of maps, Cusick creates texture and depth to this unique art series.
