I think Markus would hate the idea of pets.

Unlike Connor who seems to like dogs, and possibly fish.

I think Markus hates the idea of getting a pet, you feed it, clothe it, take care of it, and be nice to it, but in the end they are in a cage, a cage you put them in that they can't get out of.

I think it reminds him of his time with Carl, the bird android in the cage was obviously a metaphor at the start of the game, Markus knew he was treated very good , knew that Carl loved him, and he loved Carl , but he feels angry and frustrated with him also.

Carl kept him in his cage, even if he tried to make him ' think for himself ' he still kept him in a cage.

So yeah I think he loathes pet owners, and androids who try to own pets , as that way they aren't better than the humans.

You shouldn't make any animal obey you, make them do tricks for you, feed them when you want, give them attention when you want, they're supposed to have free well in their natural state just like you do.

As an Rk1k shipper I'm plenty share it would raise a bad argument between them about pets...
