β GACHIAKUTA OC sheet & Vital Instrument.

I had more ideas for this guy, to draw a fake cover too, though I realized that would take up a ton of my time so I decided to just post what I have now π

His name is Sonder, had posted a but of him before, just a doodle and the beginning of a story. For my own sake and notes I managed to finish and decide on a final design of his and his Vital Instrument.
For a bit of insight on him, here:
He was born on the Ground in a very remote part. Childhood? Not so good, but honestly, who had a perfect one in the Gachiakuta universe lmao-
Has been with the Cleaners for years now. He started in the Akuta Team, left for a while to go on solo as a Danger β which he preferred for own personal reasons β only to go back to Team-based fights. (I've written this part down in the short story I haven't posted here yet π)
Sonder Orestine is his full name. He was born simply as Orestine. He never received a first name. "Sonder" is technically a nickname he uses as a first name.
He is not a morally good character. Technically he's pretty much in the gray area, and there will be subtle hints about it in the post.
His Vital Instrument's name is Bestvow. I got real creative, haven't I? /sarc lmao- bestow + vow. Funny, I made him after watching simply the anime, I had no idea how the Chocker maker used his own blood too for his Vital Instrument, so it was a happy accident ig? π€·π»
Anyway.
His Vital Instrument is a wedding ring. Not his own, but his mother's. Why? He was always hyper fixated on it, and after her death that was the only thing he truly cherished and cared about. Not because of the memory of his mother, but because he always wanted it and when he got it he fought for it tooth an nails (has his own motivations I don't wanna share yet β I wanna implement it into the story I'm writing abt him).
He has to activate it by mixing his anima with his blood. Otherwise it doesn't work, it has to feed on something, and it does on Sonder's energy and physical strength.
ABILITY β HEALTH 'N' SICKNESS
Once activated it turns into an overgrown scythe. Light and weak body + heavy hitting weapon, it basically turns him into what you'd call a "glass cannon".
Every Vital Instrument has a downside, right, huh?
Well, this baby can be in game for however long Sonder wishes to handle it. Yet it continues to feed more and more on his energy, strength and mental stability.
What is seen during fights at the moment is the down spiral of his mind.
Once he deactivates his weapon is when his physical damage comes out β either immediate collapse, sudden spike of pain, complete and utter exhaustion conditioning him unable to fight no longer, and in severe cases can induce short comas. (Theory: can cause death too, though never experimented and never wants to either β Sonder has at least that basic level of self preservation).
The severity of the "consequences" is shown by the gradual droopiness of the scythe (as shown in the drawing).
HIDDEN ABILITY β BLOOD BONDS
Manga readers, remember when Enjin and Semiu talked about how she didn't "name her Instrument" yet? How she'll take a break to finally give it a name and start seeing into the future, even if it would hypothetically cause her eyes damage.
Yeah, in this instance, I'm going to call that side Sonder's ability "hidden", because it technically is β he tries to keep the Blood Bonds under wraps and tell as little people as possible.
Blood Bonds are what they sound as, a bond made between two people with blood to swear upon something. In this instance, they swear on secrecy and both must recite and oath back to back to each other, repeating each other's words. This is the oath written down, (I was lazy to write it in the art lmao plus it would've been cramped π):
Bond Effects
Complete secrecy: deliberately stated secrets are a must to keep. Breaking this, telling on the other person even by accident trigger punishment equal to the secret's severity. Ex. If it's a secret that Sonder's favorite color is purple and the other tells they may get a small uncomfortable pinch in the hand. If it's something severe, like anything tied to Sonder's background it could come in any form of excruciating, unstoppable pain.
Bond Effects β " 'Till death do us 'part"
Shared Vital Instrument access: Both parties are allowed to use each other's Vital Instruments, as stated "Thy Treasure be mine, mine to thou". Not in any situation though! This is only accessible when one of them is immobilized, life or death situation or when one cannot fight for any reason.
Vital Instrument's form: When it's not the owner the using a Vital Instrument β in this case, Sonder β said Vital instrument adapt its form to him. It doesn't change its fundamental nature and shape, only the look- aesthetically, and some moves to make it useable to Sonder's preferences (ex. Toukushin would have thicker threads but a smaller reach area since Sonder is used to close-mid-range fighting). Difference: Sonder's Vital Instrument doesn't adapt to the other person though. Why? Because Sonder is a catalyst, his Vital Instrument makes specifically him into one, can't do it to other people's anima though.
Down effects: Using someone else's Treasure has way worse effects on him than using his own. It doesn't have a seeable counter (like the dripping in his scythe). Someone else's Treasure harms him physically and mentally on the spot. There is no "after effect" the effect is instant and builds up way faster. It tales a toll on his body, can alter his stability and core balance, can harm him internally, exhaust him and take over his mind. The most noticeable though is the immediate shift in his ego β he goes mad in an instant and it just builds up worse and worse the more he goes on.
