Pretty much all electricity generation (except solar) is just spinning a turbine as a generator. Coal? Boils water to steam and the steam spins a turbine. Nuclear? Same thing. Wind? Spins the blades to spin a turbine. Hydroelectric? Pour water on giant paddles to spin a turbine. It's turbines all the way down and the best way to spin them is usually to make a shitload of steam under them or pour water on top of them. We're still using the same shit they used back when they first invented generators. All that's changed is we got better at spinning shit.
