This installation is a culminating public presentation of 122 Conversations Conversations: Person to Person, Art Beyond Borders an international touring project, exhibition, and catalog that traveled to six countries. I worked with 2500 volunteers. After touring for six years, this installation incorporates existing and new work. Monumental in scale, Labovitz pushed into the public realm and engaged more directly with site-specificity and architecture. It was hung to amplify the height and size. At night, this installation transforms the exterior of Terminal 2 with color shining through the windows. Over five years, millions of people saw the work (33 million travel to the airport annually).

Well-Being Wall from Anne Labovitz on Vimeo.

The Well-Being Wall is a place for visitors to express themselves creatively. A common element of the artist’s installations is her invitation to viewers to respond to their experiences immediately and personally, allowing their creative process to become part of the exhibition. Visitors are asked to respond to the prompt: What does well-being mean to you? Using markers, each viewer creates their response on a square of paper developed and provided by the artist. All visitors are invited to participate in this co-creative experience. A large hanging grid is provided for the viewer to place their own work within this evolving section of the exhibition. Before they leave the exhibition, they are invited to take a sticker as a gratitude gift from the artist. The goal is to find tangible marks of connection between viewers and the exhibition experience in a creative exchange between the artist and the audience. For Labovitz, reciprocal exchange is an ongoing collaborative process built on respect, creativity and equity.

Bon Voyage! and Happy Travels! two new mosaics designed by Labovitz and fabricated by Miotto Mosaics Art Studios in collaboration with Travisanutto Giovanni SRL. Created using traditional Venetian smalti glass, the mosaics were installed in MSP's Terminal 1 Departures Hall in late February. The vibrant, abstract works represent the artist's examination of color psychology and transformation of public space in contemporary artmaking practice.

122 Conversations: Person to Person, Art Beyond Borders

The artwork in the exhibition represents six years of planning and creating and 60 Skype or in ­person interviews involving ten residents from each of the five sister cities, including the mayor of each city. The large ­scale paintings created by Labovitz in her studio are inspired by the spirited interview exchanges. Each of the artworks depict an interpretative vision of the conversations that include faces, words, and descriptions of the experiences that relate to the individuals involved.
