As the fabric of Sudan's medical and other social infrastructures have been destroyed by war and genocide, displaced people are seeing a high risk of disease outbreaks amongst them. This is what Eman's village is currently going through, and her family has been one of many affected by dengue fever.

I never imagined I would be writing these words while my mother is in the ICU. These are the hardest days of my life. Every minute feels heavy with fear, and every phone call from the hospital makes my heart stop for a moment
My mother urgently needs to undergo her heart procedure as soon as possible. The doctors have made it clear that her condition is serious, and our family is terrified as we wait and pray beside her 💔

I contemplate the happy faces of people around me here in Ireland and reminisce about the happy normal life my family and I had before the war. A life that turned into a distant memory for us and was replaced by an unending series of horrible nightmares.
Unlike my family in Gaza, people here have access to drinking water, all types of food, electricity, and a roof over their heads. Above all, they are safe, and I cannot help but wonder if they genuinely do appreciate these blessings in their lives enough.
People seem relaxed and laughing wholeheartedly around me in Ireland. I wish I could laugh too, but I am crushed way beyond recovery on the inside. I was evacuated by my Irish college after five months of living the horrors of war in Gaza. I hope you will never know what it feels like to live in constant fear and worry and be horrified by the most sickening and scary nightmares every single night while you are far away from your family in such circumstances.
When did my people in Gaza cease to be human beings worthy and deserving of a normal life? Has it become normal now for my family in Gaza to be starved and killed while the whole world is watching the genocide? If that is the case, then you will have to excuse me if I seek every avenue to bring them to Ireland and start a new normal life like all people here around me.
I was assured by the Irish Reugee Council (IRC) and lawyers in Ireland that there is hope I can reunite with my family in Ireland. In difficult times, it is hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. For me and my family, you are literally our light and hope for a better life.

Earlier this year, Elaf's aunt passed away after being hospitalized with a brain stem hematoma. Her time in the ICU has left Elaf's family with $4,000 in medical debt.
Elaf would like to use some of the funds raised through her family's campaign to help kickstart a small business so her family can earn money to help pay off the debt, instead of having to rely solely on aid.

It's been about 9 months since I last posted here, and I feel like I owe you all an explanation.
Many of you probably noticed that I suddenly disappeared without saying anything. The truth is that I was preparing for my Tawjihi exams, which required almost all of my time and energy. I decided to focus completely on my studies because this year was one of the most important periods of my life.
As if that wasn't enough, my phone also broke really badly (I'll attach a picture so you can see what happened 😭). Because of that, I lost easy access to my account and couldn't stay active even when I wanted to.

I honestly missed being here more than I expected. I missed posting, interacting with everyone, and being part of this amazing community. Seeing that some of you stayed and continued supporting my page despite my long absence means a lot to me, and I'm truly grateful for your patience.

I don't want to talk about the 1000 days because I died a thousand times over during those days. They ripped my soul from me, took my sanity, and killed everything beautiful I saw. It's just a number the world talks about today and forgets tomorrow, even though tomorrow will be worse because it's 1001, meaning tomorrow there will be death, hunger, fear, poverty, and oppression. Nothing will change except that we keep getting worse and worse and worse. The whole world is showing sympathy today, but tomorrow they'll forget, even as our extermination and killing continue.
My daughter survived months of fear, blood clots, and a pregnancy that nearly took us both. Every heartbeat felt like a miracle, and today I thank God she is finally in my arms.
But survival is only the beginning.
Our family is still fighting every day. We struggle to afford food, medicine, and the most basic necessities while caring for our children We cannot make it through this alone.
Please don't let our story end here. Your kindness can help feed our children, provide lifesaving medicine, and give our family a chance to keep going.
